I want to like this game, but it doesn't look that great.... I'll probably still buy it, but I think I'm going to be disappointed.
This game looks so awesome. I definitely getting it in while I wait for my Zelda U. As soon as nintendo releases Zelda U, I'm getting Wii-U.
Huzah! Looks awesome. Should be great fun and in 3D :-) I'm fine with what they have presented here, I love all the elements their bringing together some stuff from Link to the Past, some from Windwaker by the sounds of it, and it even reminds me of Links Awakening from the old gameboy so for me there is a sufficient mix of old and new to peak my interest.
Yeah, I love A Link to the Past, but I was expecting a fresh Zelda experience on a portable system apart from Wind Waker universe (I can't like them for some reason) and that OoT remake. Time for another long wait...
I really wish they had gotten to more questions. One thing I'd really like to know is, will this game allow us to also play the original Link to the Past in this new 3D format? I mean, fans were really clamoring for a remake of the game, not a game LIKE it. Don't get me wrong, I want to play ALBW, but I feel it would be rather nice if we could also revisit the ALTTP world and play the original game in addition to the new one.
This looks like the New Super Mario Bros of Zelda games.
I just hope they don't begin to milk it... ugh
Am I the only one who doesn't like the stamina gauge? From watching the stage shows, it doesn't seem like the game journalists are too happy about it, either, but they sidestep it and don't press Bill for answers about why they switched. There's no sense to the "risk/reward" argument, because you had that same feeling with a limited number of arrows. It just feels like another way for Nintendo to dumb down its franchises.
I wish all Zelda games came with a download for the 3ds. I also wish every game came with a choice between using the classic controller and the other controller you shake. I hurt my arms in a traffic accident 5 years ago and cant use my arms like a sword. So I couldn't play sky word swords and couldn't finish twilight princess since I can't find the game cube version.
A Link to the Past was one of my all-time favorite games. Honestly, if they want the Wii U to succeed, Nintendo needs to make games like this for it, not the 3DS.
Onto something serious, why not do this on Wii U? That would make me buy the Wii U Nintendo. Hello? Potential customer?
I know im going to get a lot of hate for this, but seriously nintendo needs to get their shit together Make new stories in the zelda universe theres nothing wrong with taking a big leap of faith and doing something new every now and then i mean dont get me wrong the game looks ok but this is not what i was looking for A new ZELDA STORY, METROID STORY, MARIO STORY, The only games im looking forward to is super smash bros, X monolith, & Wonderful 101 Not to mention they need to upgrade those small as hard drives like wtf this is 2013 And these bastards still using 8gb & 32gb i'll take a 250GB wii u any day but wtf man Nintendo get your SHIT together
Wow. They take this long for a 'new' Zelda game at it is pretty much a copy of another one. Like seriously? It's on the fucking 3DS it's not like it takes a massive studio to create games on cartridge. They have got away with this BS far too long now. They can't get their shit together to figure out how to create HD games for the Wii U. Realizing it actually takes an investment and you the fact that you can't cut as many corner so they just don't release them. They have no excuse for copy pasting on a handheld. In fact none of these games should be on the handheld exclusively anymore. They designed an overpriced console people expect good games for it.
Nintendo has pretty much gave up.
Ever since I've gotten my 3DS I've lost my health, my friends, and my will. KEEP MAKING GAMES!!!!
Is it just me or are does the world look identical to link to the past ? I mean it seems like the exact same place with the same layout.
@Detriiment I am worried that this might be the last zelda game for 3ds.
@rushiosan So your waiting for another random spinoff in another random direction? Whats wrong with compounding on the classics? Especially since Ser Miyamoto-san has already given us two totally different worlds/outcomes for Links storyline, how many more do you need?
@Gargaglio5tatus heh, sad to say but I think their beyond milking it at this point with all the re-releases of the old titles, I mean I cant count how many copys of OoT and the original I own so I for one at least am glad this is not just another re-make/re-release and that its actually a new game and lest we forget in 3D! Thankfully it is not just another remake. I for one am getting real tired of that #$@!
Dude, don't even think about comparing this game to New Super Mario Bros. Really???
@REVOLUTIONfreak I'm not sure "dumb down" is a good way to describe the change. There was no skill or intelligence required in the past, to collect arrows and other junk from jars. Besides, for most Zelda games, if you didn't have a vast over abundance of arrows/stones/nuts etc at pretty much all times, you were doing something wrong.
@Tixylixx Actually, everyone else but you was hoping for that remake of Link to the Past that everyone thought it was going to be. Although this honestly looks like it's going to be fun. I'm excited about it. Although, the wall thing looked kind of cheap when they showed using it to get a piece of heart.
@Tixylixx uhhh, pretty sure it is in full 3D amigo.
Shame that you're judging the game already before it even comes out. Many people including myself can't wait for this game. Please shut up about the graphics.
@jtuite Install a paint shaker into the arm of your couch! Or maybe a wii-mote holster on your leg :D
That doesn't necessarly mean that its the end for the Big N. Remember Nintendo is a multi-billion dollar company and they always throw something out of left field when you least expect it. Wii U will gets its spotlight eventually.
@Lsnake Pikimin 3, believe me that game is worth a Wii U =)
@Lsnake A Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U is planned for 2014.
@Monsta1217 I agree that nintendo needs to get its shit together I have the black Wii U 32GB is nothing for the cost you can buy a 32GB usb for $30 if that. Should be 25-50GB and 150-250GB, respectively. Now, to adress all the ALBW rage on here. Remember when WW was announced. So much rage @ the concept of Cel Shading. But it turned out to be an amazing game that ppl love to this day! Look at all the hype over its re-release. Don't forget this is a demo of one level in a game that's sure to have anywhere from 7-12 levels total. Plus I can't wait to see the Dark World with the 3D cranked up it's going to kick so much ass! ^_^
@WingChopMasta 3ds is fun if you don't have one you should buy it nothing like its crappy predecessor. ^_^
@WingChopMasta I wouldn't go so far to say nintendo has given up. I agree they seem to have cut corners with this particular release but I find their other works are quite good.
It doesn't take a massive studio to create games in any format, however it can take a massive studio to create games in any format as well even a small cartridge, you need to realize game design is hard in its own right and it may even be harder to put games on that tiny cartridge rather than a disc based format. There is more to game design than visuals good sir.
@faizanhd thats because it is.
@The-Longshot @rushiosan Reviving a "classic"? Nintendo has been doing that since Game Boy Advance came out. They keep remaking the same games for years. Take a look at what happened to Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Returns, A Link to the Past (this is NOT the first remake), Super Mario Bros 1-3. They're all superb games that deserve to be played by every generation, but instead working on new projects for a new console (not the case of 3DS, but we haven't seen a fresh Zelda title on it since the release) Nintendo just milk and milk until we're tired. The reason I haven't purchased a Wii U yet? There's no upcoming project of a must-have game. Throwing Megaman on Smash Bros wasn't convincing enough. The whole thing is roughly an expansion pack with the same characters as previous incarnations. Same for Pikmin 3. Same for the new DKC - Tropical Freeze. That's Nintendo at its best nowadays.
@Rynir @Lsnake Yeah, but as Link to the Past is my favorite Zelda game, it's sad to see it only on 3DS, as this is the type of game that would sell me the Wii U alone. I just didn't like Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword that much, I'd much rather have a much more old school, but beautifully enhanced game like this than another 3D game.
Zelda will never turn into NSMB the only reason they get away with rehashing it so many times is bc of the simplicity of the game design its nothin more then original Mario with a better gfx engine and dif music score. Zelda, on the other hand, is a complex universe all it's own. Alttp was my favorite Zelda tied with MM. Speaking of MM, since 3ds is getting this out of the way they can work on that MM remake all us die-hard Zelda fans have been waiting for!!! ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
@Juicebox_Zelda i completely agree with you, but i just want them to be the creative nintendo they were years ago, and we all know what nintendo is capable of they made so many great games coming up and it seems like they lost their touch, they really need to get back on they're A game
@Sikrion @WingChopMasta I meant that why are they recycling content for a 3DS game that has been in development for who knows how long? and the reason we are getting all of these good games on 3DS only is because Nintendo's internal development studios are having a hard time wrapping their heads around the development of HD games on the Wii U because they have been milking the shit out of mediocrity so long. They are NOW realizing the cost and the staff increase that needed to happen. They can't use their old Mario copy and paste editor for the Wii U so they had to engineer a new copy and paste editor for all future Mario titles on the Wii U.
I still stand by my claim. Nintendo has given up.
Oh I just read the game description. You'll have to excuse me I'm stupid. But I'm not stupid enough to not notice nintendo is kinda just making a remake. I would have liked a new game.
@rushiosan @The-Longshot didnt say they were "reviving" it, just said they are compounding on it, do you still not realize this isn't just A Link to the Past? Its just a lot like it. For the record, who really wants Zelda to go in an entirely new direction anyway? Not me, I've been playing the games for 25yrs, and you can say whatever you want about Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda is an incredible series throughout.
They seemed to rush out Wii U, maybe trying to grab the lead from the other consoles? Then thought to themselves...
"Oh sh!t, we have no games!"
The one sure thing they have got going for it is Zelda titles.
If a new Zelda game was available at launch, then perhaps they wouldn't be playing catch up already?
Which is a strange place to be in considering, they are the ONLY next gen console available right now!
@Monsta1217 @Juicebox_Zelda I know what you mean I'm really hoping they don't go the way of Blizzard and lose their creative touch. As long as Miyamoto is behind the project I don't think we have anything to worry about. This interview sounded fake and forced I think and I think it's getting to people. >.>
