Test Drive Unlimited 2 Developer Diary Part 2: Power Is Nothing Without Control
The production teams talks about the new handling system.
The game just looks amazing, and the idea of mixing a sim like genre to racing is even better, I just hope they make it difficult to get expensive/nice houses and cars so that when you earn them and show it to your friends, you actually get a sense of accomplishment in the game, Also I've been watching videos of the beta and the steering just looks goofy... Looking forward to this game, but sometimes I imagine certain things that don't excite me as much
come on feb 8 its taking for ever.....hope in future they put pedestrians on the game....and be able to tune up your car body kit
lol @ghost-recon25 don't worry happens to the best of us. just saw this game and was blown away... looks HAWT!!
@snow_yellow right 13 hours from 6 to 7........ told ya I suck in math :) (and I'm 22, should have paid more attention in math class lol) in my defense however it was around 5AM when I wrote that and I had not been to sleep yet (work early mornings) LOL!
@ghost-recon25 You say that 60 seconds is 6 seconds. meaning that 1 in-game hour is 6 real minutes. To put it simple - the time goes 10 times faster (not 6) in the game. And I believe from 06.00 to 19.00 there are 13 hours ( not 8 ) 13/10=1.3(real hours). Since one third of the hour is 20 minutes, that makes it 1 hr and 20 min long day. my point was that now I will be stuck for 1 hr and 6 min waiting for the morning to come with my broken headlights somewhere in the bushes :-] And daylight means less contrast between dark screen and bright headlights that is actually better for your eyes.
@snow_yellow I think the Day/Night will last longer then 15 min, 1 minute in TDU2 is 6 real life seconds 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, 1440 minutes in a day 1440 TDU2 minutes x 6 real life seconds = 8640 real life seconds in a TDU2 day = 144 real life minutes in a TDU2 day = 2 real life hours and 24 real life minutes in 1 TDU2 day so says GMDestra from Atari so that would mean there would be 360 seconds in one hour in TDU2 so lets say the sun will rise at 6AM and set at 7PM that would be 8 hours so 360 x 8 = 2880 seconds, 60 x 48 = 2880 so there for you should have around 48 minutes of daylight if my math is right ( and it might not be cause I suck at math so if its not feel free to correct me :))
thats for bikes, dont u think that there is plenty of them too? i mean come on, driving games have had it! that is until some big new idea comes along or a new console to make the change for them!
The developers tend to overdo it with the day/night cycle when they chose to implement one. I hate it when the day lasts only for 10-15 minutes and you can actually see the shadows moving when you care to look (GTA IV, Hot Pursuit 2010, Call of Pripyat, Fallout, etc). And they say there are wet conditions too. So if I like dry roads and sunny weather for my driving activities I will be happy approximately 1/3 of the time. That just will not do. In the previous diary entry they said something about meeting people and going to the disco... If they worked on this I am sure I am not avoiding it in the game (though I hate that kind of stuff). I just remembered those lame a$$ NFS most wanted cut scenes with those supposedly cool people bragging about some meaningless things how they will overtake you and they never did LOL. Thanks but no thanks. I really looking to owning this game but some weird thoughts just keep on coming.
gotta love the funny accents , been waiting for this for 3 years , hope it delivers , looks great. (played the beta)
