The problem is that no Video game made to date could hope to capture the feel of Star trek. Star Trek has always been more about the Characters than the plot, whereas Video games are more about the game. This game had the best potential but they blew it by forcing everyone to be the Captain of a starship as well as by forcing a ridiculous fee for playing online. If I could join a PC Crew as say an Engineer or a Pilot or even first officer, then it would force a certain amount of team work and dependence on the group in question and if the opportunity for Social RP and character development would have brought the Star trek feel to life in a manner never seen before in these games. Oh well maybe one day someone who actually understands Star Trek will program one of these games. :-(
This was a horrible attempt at Star Trek. It more like a third person shooter. Mass Effect 2 does a better job at capturing a space adventure like Star Trek. I would never buy this game less pay a monthly fee. Pathetic.
i really dont know why people keep dissing this game ye its a bit repeatative but theres also many campaign style missions in there too what i mean is every time you advance a level you get given the new episode of the campaign. and what cryptic has done is given us a World map that is very accessible and doesnt take alot of time to get from A to B. and people who say there a Trekkie and dont like this game there Lieing it puts you into the Star trek universe you will see that when you read the info messages when you start a quest
If they wanted this game to be successful, they could have actually made it in some way 'feel' like star trek. Adding some 'star trek like' graphics and sounds does not make a game star trek. Way to turn the franchise into some action arcade game. This game is shallow, easy and tedious and fails to capture what the franchise is really about. The developers learned nothing from their past experiences.
I want to love this game, really I do.... but..... I know I know, its just come out, in a year it will be a totally different (hopefully better) game etc.... But i want it NOW.... le sigh, why oh why does the Star Trek MMO perfection not exist??
graphics are real nice but this game has a long way to go before its even good. i am a huge treky and like this game but come on fixs the bugs plz.
this game is really good dont bash it, its better than most MMOs at release and its got a (suprisingly) dedicated team trying to make it better across the board
more stuff coming, and generic voice overs for stuff that have no voice over, that makes sense. But I don't understand about the talk of consoles... I see console games all over the place, but not a single person I know uses them wimpy consoles to play games are there really enough players out there to warrant having a console version?
