Well i am glad to say that there is exactly 24 hours until "Dawnguard" is officially released on the Xbox-Live Marketplace. I would like to go over any questions anyone has by giving all the know info at the time.
The "Dawnguard" DLC map will not only add 2 large NEW areas to the main "Skyrim" map, but also integrate areas into the current map allowing the player to continue exploring the large world.
There will be new skill trees for both the vampire and werewolf forms.
(Note that you are still unable to be both vampire and werewolf at the same time)
Both the vampire and "Dawnguard" HQs can be owned and used as homes in "TES:V Skyrim".
New items include: Dragon Bone weapons, (Including bows... crossbows unknown), crossbows, spells such as "Spectral Force" and the largely anticipated levitation spell seen at 8:40 in the video above, and much, much, more fancy new toys.
There will be new armor for both the vampire and the "Dawnguard" paths.
You have the ability to tame both the giant trolls seen at 6:59, and the supposed gargoyle seen at 6:31. Though not know yet, you may also be able to tame hell hounds.
For high level players, new "Legendary Dragons" will be added to the game to give a bit of challenge.
*SPOILER ALERT**SPOILER ALERT**SPOILER ALERT**SPOILER ALERT*
In the story, the vampires are attempting to permanently block out the sun using the "Elder Scroll" seen at 2:25 on the females back.
Vampires now have the ability to travel in sunlight and are given viles of blood to make up for feeding on NPCs (Though you are still able to feed on NPCs at free will).
The 2 red sigels on the map are those of "Markarth" in the bottom left, and "Solitude" in the top left. I speculate that this may be the general area of which the "Dawnguard" DLC takes place.
Players will journey back into a portion of "Oblivion" know as the "Soul Cairn".
Though that is all that is known at the moment, i will be back with more. In addition, if you have any more to add, E-Mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
trailer =great +cool>>>but why only on the godamn Xbox >>>>>we want it on PC and PS3 p\s:love to play as a vampire +the new crossbow
I'd also like to point out that the blood fountain that the Vampire leader is standing next to looks an awful lot like the shrine of Molag Bol.
Ever since the title was announced, I've been convinced that it's a DLC that follows the Daedric Prince, Meridia. Seeing that it's a faction war between vampires and "vampire hunters," I'd be surprised if the Dawnguard weren't mortal followers of Meridia - undead hunters rather than vampire hunters.
I wanna be a Vamp but damn i wish they can make it more like Vampire the Masquerade so that you can actually keep it hidden and not have so many NEGATIVE effects to deal with :(
markarth the city of the dwemer and the gold looking city be the HQ of the Dawnguard, the faction of the sun.Not hard to believe.and i think that bat transformation was something like a dead effect.(like ashes).and the last question is the transformation into a vampire demon.i didn't chose to be a werewolf but i thing if you chose the werewolf transformation and the demon vampire tranformation it will be a bug between them.
I should say that the golden thing on the players back is definetly a significant item, but i do not think it is a weapon, also u see it later in the trailer... at around 9:35.... so i think it holds a special map or something.
I just noticed this, but try turning the map of Skyrim sideways a bit. It should then line up with the map you saw on the elder scroll.
Anytime now, we'll start seeing Edward & Bella from Twilight mods somehow tying into this. I can see it coming like an Amtrak barreling 100 mph and my ankle is caught on the track.
At 55 seconds in, the Falmer ARE shown in the video... How can you rule out the Snow Prince?????????????
I know no one is probably going to care, but did anyone notice the new moths/butterflies at 10:17 when they were looking at the elder scrolls? That may be an indicator of more ingredients, which is always cool.
The Model on the back of the guys daughter is an elder scroll. The model already exists in Skyrim in the scroll receptacle in the dwemer orrery, you are sent to get it during the main quest so the question is... how can these guys not recognise it?
Not experts that was clearly markarth and solitude which makes me think this is more knights of nine as in no new areas just added locations
I would like to see other types of weapons introduced. I'm not really a fan of crossbows, but I'd love to see polearms weapons, including combat staffs. And the ability to smith these weapons as well as magical weapons (magic staffs).
Also, there are way more spells in Oblivion than in Skyrim so it would be good to see some of them returning, for example: various absorb/drain/reflect spells; open lock spells; feather/burden; a whole range of different summons and bounding armour; dispell; etc etc. Not to mention being able to create custom spells, but I'm not too fussed about that as much.
One thing I would love to be able to do after becoming Archmage of the College is to rebuild Winterhold (I personally think this should be a requirement for becoming a Thane in that hold).
Definitely sure the other sigil on the map is Solitude (who's emblem is a wolf).
It would indicate these places may have some significance. Couple that with the fact there is that eclipse/portal thing above Dragons Reach I would think the Vampires may want to take over Skyrim, with the Dawnguard trying to stop them akin to the Stormcloaks and the Empire.
It's probably been mentioned already but the scroll on that girls back is an Elder Scroll. I've seen it on the loading screens a few times and have been carrying one in my inventory for a while.
I think that the Dawnguard is the organisation started by the last champion of Cyrodiil with his friends of the Order of the Virtuous Blood back in the time ^_^Also.. I guess I'll have to start a new character without mods for mods will not be compatible anymore - just to make sure that I won't get a MAJOR broken game right?
@depman1972 Its not only coming out for 360, it'll just be an exclusive addon for one month, then it'll come out for ps3 and pc.
@igotthemunchies right on 420!
@igotthemunchies So Gamespot has to know more about Skyrim than the average nerd? I think you're more than the average nerd.
@TheSmoj Yeah, that's what I was thinking. You're totally right.
@TTocsa Probably not. The creators of the mods will probably release an updated version.
DLC stands for DownLoadable Content - so it won't be available in stores.
@samsurreal88 Haha the fact that he didn't notice, makes me smile a bit ^^
@The_Dragon_Born They do if they want to inform "the average nerd" as you so finely put it. This guy you replied to, should take their place and analyse instead, since he clearly knows what he is talking about, when these "analysers" don't.
@The_Dragon_Born Ofcourse they should. I may be an average nerd, but they are professional nerds.
@The_Dragon_Born If their analysis is of the new trailer, they should know more then the average nerd.
@The_Dragon_Born Yeah not your average nerd. He's an ANGRY nerd. ooo scary.
I honestly don't see the Morthal symbol on that map.
@Scorpion1813 While I admit back in 2007-08 DLC was not as popular as it is today, they did release all the Oblivion DLC on disc.
@vfibsux What I meant is that you won't be able to buy JUST the DLC on disc. You would have to buy it in a bundle akin to "Game of the Year" editions. But as already pointed out, that probably won't be out for a while (I'd say at the end of this year at the very earliest).
@magicmonkeymatt I agree, was just asnswering the assumption just because it is DLC you won't be able to buy it on disc.
@vfibsux Some time next year once all their planned DLC has been released they probably drop a "game of the year" type edition with it all on disk! ...... But who wants to wait that long!?
