Mercenary Kings is great. It's really fun to play with the wife, but a couple of complaints I have are that there is no option to play local co op with split screen off, I guess its nice to have the freedom to go where you want if the other player isnt ready, but if one player dies too much its mission over for both... It can be frustrating cuz my wife is a noob at these type of games, and if I'm not near her she dies pretty fast. It is way more fun than frustrating tho, and I guess it makes the game more of a challenge. since it does seem to be a little too easy going solo so far.
I really love Paul Robertson's work, Game looks beautiful for a retro style game. Anyways Im gonna get back to playing :)
@SajaTo They have a time limit of when you can "purchase" them, but you can always go through the transaction process and not download it if you're hurtin' for HDD space. I usually go to the SEN website, "purchase" the free games, and let them sit in my download list if I don't want to download them right away.
Sorry but Mickey's Castle of Illusion is not free. Unless PSN isn't updated fully !! Shows up 14.99 and Demo is free!! .
@unforgivensheep Free games differ between regions.
@unforgivensheep Games are free throughout the course of the month, not all at the beginning. This week, its Mercenary Kings and Arkham City. Next week they'll make another one free and so on.
I swear us gamers can be the hardest group of people to satisfy. Seriously, how are people complaining about this. PS+ is a great deal. Lets be honest, gaming is an expensive hobby, we buy consoles for $300+, we invest in quite a bit of money to upgrade our PC (don't give me that BS that you can get a decent gaming rig for $300, setting up a gaming rig is costly, at least where I live) so why is $60 a year, for a good chunk of free games every month, getting so much hate? Fine its a "rental" service. So is Netflix, but you don't see people whining about that. But if $60 is expensive to some people (I understand people have different budgets) then fine, there are a bunch of awesome free to play games out there. Everyone wins..... I think...... Let's all just relax.
Ign needs to stop making everything a video. Not only is it lazy but I'm usually on here on the go casually browsing gaming news and it's really annoying when I don't have the data to watch videos.
@youre_a_sheep Just like games with gold!
@youre_a_sheep it is when i payed for multiplayer not the games
@kvally @gf61@youre_a_sheep GwG is years late to the party. If xbl didn't feel threatened by PS+ it wouldn't exist. Speaking of XBL you don't subscribe part of your 360 game doesn't work, "hey you can still buy content". How you like paying to be spammed by advertisements?
You pay M$, advertisers pay M$, marketing pays M$. The sale of your personal data alone pays for your online, now its even used to replace AI in games "TitianFall".
Have fun with those political adds!
im selling my ps4 next gen consoles are going to be a joke your basically not going to see an original dedicated game for either just indie crap waste of the machines power
Dude, it came out less than HALF A YEAR AGO. Give developers time, idiot. It's your fault for buying it at launch.
@Merseyak Sell it, and use the money to buy some patience.
@nl_skipper It's a precious commodity, duncha know. We should all start mining for HDD space.
How I mine for HDD space, gais? How I mine for HDD space...
@taker254isback Games I never played. I have a mortgage, bills and general upkeep of a house to maintain. Screw this $60 a game bs.
@taker254isback Yea it's not like HDD space is rewritable or anything...
@taker254isback And it's not like Sony made the Playstation's HDD easily upgradeable or anything.
Play them...complete them...delete them.
@taker254isback Good thing you can upgrade the HDD on a PS3 and PS4 without voiding the warranty. Sure am glad I a dropped a TB into it. :)
Batman AC is an awesome game, but PS+ games have been going a bit downhill these last months compared to last year. Still they offer better games than XBL gold.
Damn what a disappointment. This is your great lineup of games?
And only 1 PS4 game? and its not even PS4 worthy. I mean it might as well be a vita/ps3 game.
Anyway, I was really looking forward to finally subscribe to PS+ but I guess I will have to wait again, until some good games are out on the PS+....
@GunEye There are only like 5 ps4 games to begin with and they all just came out... What do you expect? There's enough free shit on ps4 to tide you over until something you want to purchase come out...
So many people here saying the games aren't free. Hey. I used to be one of those people. I got a 1 year free with my Vita so I activated it. So With my PS3, Vita, PS4 and PSP, I get at the bare minimum 1 free game to play every single week for 96 cents a week. If your going to complain about games that cost less then $1.00 , say there not free & people are stupid for subscribing... well... nobody really wants to read your ridiculous comments. Keep buying your brand new games for $65 a pop & be happy with your self. Except for the 3-4 must haves, I'll wait a bit & save $. I'm a changed gamer. (pc games are still better)
I actually thought he had a pretty good argument...but whatever.
PS+ does offer a good deal with their games. True, if you're going to be technical then you can't really call it "free". But it is for those who were going to buy PS+ anyways so they can play PS4 games online.
@drwhoiscool Only a fool pays $65 for games on a regular basis. They routinely come down to around $40 on sale within 2-3 months after release.
If you pay for something, it's not free. Anyone with even a third grade education should be able to see that.
@drwhoiscoolFree, they are not. A great deal, yes. But...
"well... nobody really wants to read your ridiculous comments. Keep buying your brand new games for $65 a pop & be happy with your self."
1. We don't want to read your self-entitlement either. It's also quite annoying.
2. It gets even more annoying when that person's orthography is the one from a 9 y/o kid
The games are "free" as part of a service, as long as one does not over-analyze and pick at minor details. Freedom itself, as we know it in this world, isn't really freedom by definition. It's privilege.
It is so funny how people love these side scrolling games. I can only think these people are too young to know that at one point that was the only type of games there were. I doubt I will ever play another one. I played two generations of consoles that only(mostly) had sidescrolling games or top down games. I'm in the 21st century I will not be going back to the 20th.
@spartanx169x Some people also just legitimately enjoy side scrollers and other such classic formats. Thinking a design concept is out dated in gaming is sideways, because design concepts are always being renewed in gaming. Little Big Planet is a side scroller but is obviously in an entirely different world than classic mario or sonic.
@spartanx169x I'm in my mid 30s & I play all games. If they are fun, they are fun. There are more verities in 2D platforms then in there are 3D FPS.
@drwhoiscool middle 30s and with that grammar? not such how much "verity" is in there. :P
My late 20's here and I gotta say that I enjoy the nostalgic feeling of a good "side scroller" every now and then. True I don't usually get as immersed in them as with the modern 3D games (with the exception of LBP....love that game). But they do offer a nice change in pace!
@spartanx169x Not every game needs to be the same view point. That'd be like saying every novel needs to be in first person narrative. Or every film needs to be in black and white.
Every game does not need to be the same. Sometimes, I enjoy a side-scroller. Sometimes, I enjoy an FPS. Sometimes, I enjoy a top-down view ala Gauntlet or Hotline Miami.
There's no need to pigeon hole every game into the same style.
@spartanx169x A lot of people don't like first person shooters. I'm not sure what is defined as '21st century'. I played lots of fps in the 20th century, also lots of rpgs and scrollers. I guess the entire hobby is forever stuck
