GameSpot takes pro-athletes and puts them head-to-head with their teammates and pro-gamers to battle it out on the Xbox One. Who's going to come out on top? Tune in to find out. Sponsored by Microsoft.
So wait the loser gets a hug? I would rather lose then. Phil looked like he lost out when he didn't get a hug. Mini Lols
Hope you guys enjoy the show - Very stoked that Gamespot has me on board to host! That said, for those of you wondering:
I do not work exclusively for IGN. In fact, most of 2013 I've been a freelance host for Gamespot, Nerdist News on Nerdist.com, hosting e-sports events for Microsoft & writing DAYLIGHT with Zombie Studios & Atlus.
Oh yeah...and raising a newborn. So...you know...just some stuff.
Seriously though - Hope to be on Gamespot some more in the future and chatting w/ you folks. Look for some more episodes of Player vs Gamer in 2014.
Have a great Holiday and Happy New Year.
Does NFL players have what it takes to survive a Zombie apocalypse in DR 3?
WHO GIVES A ^%&ing $HIT!
FYI the people using the Xbox One to play fantasy Football arn't the ones playing Dead Rising 3 and even if they are who cares?
Oh look Chobot. It's like Gamespot is trying to make itself less and less apealing to anyone who doesn't live in the US
What is this? Why is the IGN lady on Gamespot? I'm confused and wondering why I should care that professional athletes play videogames. Wouldn't it be more interesting to see Angela Merkel and David Cameron squaring off in a bloody war of attrition in EU4 or scientists playing Kerbal Space Program? Everyone plays games. Why give special attention to people who already get special attention from playing team sports?
Enjoyable. Nice to watch gamers from other walks talk and play games. The key is to find people who are into games and not just into cross-promotion. These football players seemed to be actualy into games so it worked. Chobot is always a joy as a host.
I finally picked up DR3. It's a blast so far. Even a Zombie outbreak can't spoil another sunny day in L.A... provided you have the tools for the job!
Jessica is great, and at first glance I thought who gives a rat's ass about some jock's opinion on games?
Then it hit me, these guys are leaders in public opinions, and if they play video games then the public'll think video games are cool.
So good on you GS keep 'em coming.
Wow, some of the content of video game "journalism" site gamespot is putting out at the moment, is total bollox. Like it's getting progressively more crap.
I'm literally listening to Chris Watters trying to sell me a fukin Xbox game?
Why do I care about Pro NFL players?
Does anyone actually prefer the USA shows on gamespot over the UK ones? These come across like glorified adverts. (I enjoy the USA live streams and developer chats).
Literally it's painful to watch. What a great stream and sanitised game play. (Not!)
Please don't put out content like this, it's like watching the VGX except Joel Mchale isn't there to point out how crap it all is.
An advertisement under the guise of a game-play show. If I wanted to watch these I'd watch tv at 3am.
Stop being so mean guys, this was a good little show, sexy presenter the best looking one Gs has ever had anyway, and a littlle bit if light hearted fun gaming. Dont be so retarded.
Happy to see Jessica on a new show but I don't really care for it, watching athletes play video games isn't really interesting for me.
Last Wednesday Danny slammed the VGX awards for mocking games and being to entertainment focused. Today gamespot did the exact same thing. Congratulations on your hypocrisy gamespot!
I saw the thumbnail and thought that was Cho Bot. She left IGN to freelance for everyone or did Gamespot lure her away?
Commercials on the internet? Isn't it bad enough we pay a yearly subscription to this site? Do they really need to double dip? Seems kinda slimy, like a cable company.
@chobotj Liked your show Jessica, good hosting but i think
- a 10 minutes format would be more dynamic
- more than 50% of the show should focus on the face-off
- more emphasis on the dynamics of the rivalry between the players/gamers could be cool
Overall it was definitely good for a 1st show.
@Saladudo Nah, methinks it will be about EA again
@kuda001 Strangely enough IGN saw an increase in site functionality and review quality over the past year (though their scoring policy is still centered around pecuniary aspects rather than game quality) while Gamespot took a serious nose dive on both fronts.
Coincidence, I think not
@adrianjarca so what did your comment mean? it's idiotic in every way I can think of.
@adrianjarca And why is that? why is she anti-non-Americans? I think not.
Plus just because they brought a good looking gamer doesn't mean they stooped low.
As far as IGN hosts goes, or went, Between her and Naomi, I think Naomi takes her job more seriously, and delivers with more passion. Well she is in Gamespot now, so we will have to see how Chabot goes.
@Verenti It's called being sportive. That's what the do. And it's fun. I don't see anything wrong about it.
@resorberYes. it was a very forgettable game.
@GunEye him and danny odwyer. agree
@GunEye You done made my day, friend. Cheers!
wtf? way to confuse two different things. One has nothing to do with the other. Danny slammed the VGx as the presenter was awful, for a gaming show that should have been so much more. This is supposed to be what it is.
@at129907 It definitely felt like a paid for advertisement for DR3. Had to reach out to the other audiences. I don't think gamespot is the place to do it tho. NFL.com maybe.
@NetGod Umm nobody pays a yearly subscription to the site anymore and that was never needed anyway.
@manu_budI agree. Great idea, but I think it can be edited to 10 minutes.
