Pikmin 3 Deluxe, an enhanced port of Pikmin 3 on Wii U, includes tons of new additions and tweaks to the original game. One of those changes is the addition of a new prologue and epilogue starring Captain Olimar and Louie from the first two Pikmin games. This video covers a little bit of the former with the two scouting three different locations across three different days.
The premise of the new prologue is similar to how Pikmin 2 started. That game begins with Olimar learning that the company he works for, Hocotate Freight, is in massive debt. Once the president of the company learns of the treasures that exist on the Pikmin planet, he tasks Olimar and Louie with collecting as much as they can.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe’s prologue has the same premise, with the company in debt once again and the duo needing to collect money. Olimar isn’t too thrilled about how the president handles the company's finances, and he’s vocal about it, but he’s an explorer at heart. Pikmin 3 Deluxe launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on October 30, 2020.
