Now Playing: RaiderZ
GameSpot Asia's Randolph and Jonathan hunt down beasts great and not-so-small in NeoWiz's free-to-play take on Monster Hunter. Protip: it's called "ray-derz", not "ray-der Z".
I've been done with Korean MMO stages ago.... only if the developers did what Nexon did with Maplestory and Rangrok and putting some standalone single player version of their games and did that with Gunz, I would be alot happy!
It's a good video for such a crappy looking MMO!
I played lots of MMO, and frankly the only MMO that is good is the Monster Hunter series, cause its absolutely not easy yet you can beat a beast with nothing but simple swords and shield if you mastered the right moves!
So then name the freaking game, Raiders and stop wasting our time with stupid game names like Driv3r and RaiderZ.
Annoying game, lots of same quests, kill 10 these guys bring 10 that crap, al lthe time same same same, its not multiplayer game, you all the way playing alone and in parties u play only for few miinutes, if u \dnt have real friends in game u never find party for longer time, game sux, like any asian mmo i saw, nothing new, combat is difficult reminds me something like console games with very bad controls, deleted after week of playing, all the way same quests and there is no multiplayer
Sigh....the difference between these korean mmo monster hunter clones and an Actual Monster Hunter game is that Monster hunter has balance in the gameplay and is fun to play even though there is a slight grind element to it, the grind isnt so bad that it just makes the whole game a fulltime job chore to play. I have a feeling that Raiderz will be a fulltime job to play if you want end game gear or endgame content.
>>Protip: it's called "ray-derz", not "ray-der Z".
Then they should have written it as "Raiderz" then, LAWL.
Anyway, for those that played it, how's the character creator/customization (appearance-wise)? Robust or very limited?
RaiderZ is really good for F2P game. I played quite lot in the closed beta with couple different classes and it's really matter of skill if you manage, not that much about stats. Classes seem balanced enough and it's easy to find the style that suits you because every class can use every weapon. But if you just have the money, I'd really recommend Guild Wars 2 or more action oriented Tera Online(questing in it is really boring though but so it's in RZ). I think they're far better than RaiderZ in terms of content. RZ still manages to stand as a really unique F2P game, if you're short on cash and want to play MMORPG, play this.
really good MMO for free 2 play, Customization with skill's is verry good, it's like Diablo 2 skill system Builds etc, fight system is Like Monster hunter Boss fights are good can't wait when it becomes more massive, Crafting is monster hunter wow combo, GRaphics are Quite good also. Gonna wait FOr release when and return to game stopped playng after closed beta.
@Pieter101 If U r talking about the look..
Bless , Rift Storm Legend and Star Wars the Old Republic are ALL look way much better than GW2 !!!
@WillyChong True story, its only sad that capcom didn't released it for EU/NA. Loved the series but its dead for me now tnx to Wii/DS instead of PSP/Vista/PS3
@IanNottinghamX I guess I don't want to be too negative. The fact is I just really wish that there was so much more to the game, and I feel that it was too much of a niche take on an otherwise decent genre, and by that I mean action RPG.
@IanNottinghamX I am focusing more on the bore factor that you indicated, since that rings as a more true synopsis than ever any mention of 'fun.' As to balance, I suppose it is somewhat more hardcore, but that I wouldn't attribute to balance per se, though I do admire and sort of envy the AI I hear so much about. For all purposes I would rather play an mmo, and I don't even care if it's Korean. This game seems to bore me even when I try to ignore it, which doesn't serve to alleviate how much it annoys me.
@June-GS Very limited, not nearly as much options as in many other games. Some basic faces, hairstyles and colors for hair and armor. You can't change your body in any way except color if i remember correctly. I'm not sure if they will put more things in the final version, but at least in closed beta it was very limited. And what I played there wasn't any cool armors either. If character appearance is a really big thing for you, RaiderZ might be a big letdown.
@Steba93 Hmm, I see. Yes, I know it sounds vain, but it IS important for me on account of I don't wanna look like everybody else when I play MMOs.
So thanks for the heads-up, buddy.
@LukeAntoniasse @Steba93 Real funny of you to say that 'coz Champions Online is like my go-to MMO whenever I'm in the mood to create another character! LOL. But seriously though -- for those who've never given it a chance -- CO may be a couple of years old now, but its character creation/customization features are second to none, even when takin into account big-budget pay-to-play MMOs.
>>Maybe you should try it and decide, it's free after all... lol
That's not necessarily true though, @LukeAntoniasse . Monetarily, yeah, it's free, but just like most other things in life, ya have to pay for it in other ways. Like your time and energy, and not to mention more practical matters like your electricity & Internet access bills, LOL.
However, with that said, I'm not totally vain (LAWL). So if the gameplay's really that good, sure, you guys've convinced me, I'll take it for a spin or two. ;)
@June-GS @Steba93 Character creation is the biggest turn off for me in this game. Like you, I care a lot about it (maybe that's why I've been playing Champions Online for quite some time). But in-game, you have a bigger variety of armors and clothes, the problem is that they have level requisites (after you get them, though, you can upgrade gear and still keep them only for appearance, which is nice). You can also recolor them, but a rare item is needed to do it and it's kind of expensive, which I thought it's a pretty dumb choice from the devs.
I like the gameplay though and the epic monsters battles are really fun. Maybe you should try it and decide, it's free after all... lol
