New Releases - Week of Sept 4, 2011
This week we see the release of Dead Island, Driver: San Francisco, Resistance 3, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Rise of Nightmares, Star Fox 64 3D, and more.
what??? i might have just misunderstood, but did it say that you could instanstly switch vehicles in driver... thats really dumb
Dead Island and Resistance for me..I can wait to get Space Marine when there's a deal on Steam. There's NHL 12 next week..sigh..then Gears..grr
@Jim60360 I bet at least 10 out of the 13 who gave you the thumbs down so far have not even touched the demo. I wanted so bad this game to be good, but the fact is that the demo left a bad impression. The camera is terrible; the game seems to have been built with a cover system in mind just to have it pulled off at the last hour; and while visuals are not important, it seems that Space Marine just reused and zoomed in the settings of Kill Team, which is a top-down dual-stick shooter. It's a pity, since it seems to be faithful to the source material and the idea of mixing 3rd-person brawling and shooting is great.
@thrinaxodon The single player in the Resistance series has never been this short, which is one of the many reasons why I favor it to Killzone and Call of Duty. @jpgae While I found the demo to be lacking, it's hard to imagine how it could be a copy of Gears of War without a cover system. And if you're talking about the overall look of the protagonists, in fact, it's Gears that ripped off Warhammer - this is a game based on a 25-year old wargame. Every space marine game out there ripped off Warhammer, especially Gears.
Resistance 3 beta sucks (game-play and graphics), not my type of game, maybe the SP is ok, but i think it will be 5 hours game-play. Dead Island baby.
Preordered collectors edition of Dead Island from EB a while back, hope it will be good. Space Marine looks great as well.
Can't wait for Dead Island!! Also, I think Rise of Nightmares might be the first Kinect game worth playing.
