WTH? This game has a few glitches, mainly sound but other than that I love it. The single player game was a lot of fun and I really like the on line play. I'm a fan of MOH, BF, and COD and this game holds it's own.
don't know why so many people don't like this game, it has the best graphics of ANY game out, bar-none (maybe planetside 2 is better) and the gameplay is much like bf3 (same engine) but with smaller maps (like blops2).
basically it's a blops2 game with smaller maps and no vehicles version of bf3.
i say give it a try, and don't let the reviewers misguide you.
I got the Limited Edition for PC about a week ago. Here are my thoughts:
Single Player is mediocre. MoH2010 had a memorable yet simple campaign, this one tries too many things but ultimately isn't that great.
Multiplayer on the other hand is a different proposal. I play nearly every shooter that comes out. Have been playing since the 90s. I haven't had this much fun since the original CS days. The biggest flaw this game has is that it's being promoted as a CoD-killer, when in reality it's much more different than CoD. Playing with your fireteam buddy and your team is absolutely essential in having a good time. Being a gun nut I can also say that the customization options are mouth watering, I just wish you could've picked your secondary weapon, I always want a P226R with me...
Overall I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. I paid half price on ebay so not having a good campaign really doesn't ruin it for me, but this game definitely isn't for everyone. If you want faster, individual-based combat and don't care for the authentic weapons or team based action, avoid it. If you miss the good old days of CS or Rogue Spear, this is definitely a satisfying title. There are plenty of people playing it online on PC and I'm really looking forward to this map pack.
Why do I even comment... it's just another map pack for a generic, POS shooter nobody bothered to keep after one weekend of play. I rented the god awful thing, and all I can say is WHY CANT I SHOOT ANYTHING!!!???
It's quicktime event after quicktime event every mission with VERY little shooting, and MP is the most half assed you can get outside the detailed customization... but Blacklight Retribution had FAR more customization, varitety, and is generally more fun, and it was FREE!
I hope Danger Close gets another shot... The game is not nearly as bad as the review scores try to make it seem. Anyone who actually plays a lot of shooters could tell you how tight the shooting mechanics were. The buddy system and new objective game modes carried a nice pace of action throughout the match. It definitely needed a lot more time to full realize the vision, but I'd still rate it up there with BO2 for mechanics alone.
Problem is so many people let review scores influence their thoughts about a game, so they don't even give it a fair shot. Right now, I still prefer BF3 overall, but those with a keen eye can see the potential Danger Close has with this product.
I bought it, and played a little of the MP. For the most part, I beat the campaign and then put it away. It's not that I don't want to play it; it's just that its not nearly as good as its competing titles like Halo, Bf3, and Call of Duty.
Sorry Danger Close, your game kind of sucks. The good news is I still bought a copy. Best of luck: May your company not see major layoffs next year...
I couldn't agree more. The game plays more like a tactical shooter like Ghost Recon rather than a true FPS. It really relies on teamwork. The reason so many people dislike the game is because its being marketed as an entirely different experience than what it is.
@M3o5nster This is sooo true. i Love this game and the fact that it is different than both BO2 and BF3. BF3 is still my preference yes but i still love this game, because its not trying to be a better "BF3" but rather a different game.
@M3o5nster BF and COD are the two biggest FPS franchise, not only that, they've got the biggest community in fps genre, It's no surprise that they sell well! the fact is if any fps game want's to get their market, This will happend to them!!!!! It's sad but it's true.
@DanDreadblood i actually liked the campaign a lot. i enjoiyed kicking down the door and shooting terrorists in the face. i didn't feel like it got old or repetitive, i was looking forward to doing it each and every time.
the campaign was definitely too short, but this is a multiplayer game so, you know, no biggie.
