watch gameplay on youtube, theres heaps of pop ups people appear out of no where, hopefully they fix it looks fun though!!!!!
I like the look of this. It will definetly keep me occupied until the next GTA installment, or AGENT. How about giving us a World War 2 game in the UK. Think about it. On a Royal Air Force base, as a pilot, running around in a brown leather jacket over the airfield grass, hitting the bar with all yer mates, the night is going great and your immersed in how funny everyone is and your enjoying it. The siren sounds, your drunk, you need to attend an emergancy breifing, finding it while stumbling around GTA4 style with your pals will be epic. Then its serious talk from your leader, your in the spitfire still trying to sober up, taxi for take off, and suddenly a bomb falls on the bar you were just in. You take off, do your business, and then day by day you wait for the bar to be rebuilt. Story telling is inspirational. A game like that would and could sell millions. Its what a lot of games are missing... Passion. Mafia II looks like it has it. Also, please steal my idea someone!
I ve completed Mafia on the PC years ago and it was fantastic. I hope Mafia II delivers as the first one. On the story narrative and gameplay, im not worry i just wish they'd polish more the animations that seem ok but not great comparing with other current titles.
Im so exited about this game!!! Im worried about my computer to coop with it tough. I got an Athlon x2 firstname.lastname@example.org, ATi HD4850 512mb, 2GB 1066mhz RAM. I put all my budget into the monitors(HP 2710m x3 Oh yeah baby 27" x3 gaming goodness) when I bought this computer.
@howardorr I think that most of the footage shown here is either at night, or early mornings... This can mean two things, developers put much thought in day/night changes in population, or like u said, its just underpopulated. I hope for the first obviously :)
The streets do look a little underpopulated. I think games have a way to go to get to the level of people on-screen that you would find if you really walked around a big city. But on the plus side the shooting mechanic seems to be favouring a bit of run and gun over "hide behind cover/peer out/ shoot bad guy/move on to the next cover" we find so often in games. Plus the 50s are such a cool decade to set a game in. Cool suits, cool trenchcoats, the "dames" in pencil skirts. Cooool.
This game looks absolutely mindblowing. The first Mafia was fantastic. I have nothing but the highest hopes for the second! And on my PC will for sure run on highest specs. Cannot wait!
Looks interesting... Not enough to take a chance at a pre-order, but I'll definitely be checking out the reviews when it is released. Though I do wish they'd release it via Steam.
@Tommz7070 that's a lot of age man ;) i mean shouldn't you be fixing clocks and telling your grandson how a great mobsterlord you were instead of playing games? LOL man just kidding play games all the way till you die..opps my bad again long live Tommz7070 the greatest mobsterlord of all time
The first one was awesome so I hope the second one lives up to it. The tank style shooting mechanics of the console version on demo here look a bit meh in comparison to the first, but hopefully the PC version will bring back the original feeling.
@dudshutup why dont you believe him..Hes actualy the age he says he is..The oldest poster on gamestop..Im 41 its not hard to believe..Trust me so the man loves games..Just because some are 16 doesnt mean there older gamers around..Most of the guys i work for at my job play games..There all my age also..Id say more than half.. Any how mafia 2 will have red dead to compete with on game of the year..So far red dead has my vote..Ill have to judge em when mafia 2 is released so im holding my breath on goty..Some will say uncharted 2 is goty..Alan wake can contend with it also..Very well done game..Civ five is yet to be released along wth sc2.. Many games do out before the goty in december or jan...So far my vote is red dead..Mafia 2 looks amazing though..Hopefully it will live up to the hype..
Cant wait the first game was amazing and this looks like its gonna be even better which i didnt think was ever possible.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE B GOOD!!!! I Try not to get excited about any game these days as no matter how good they are in previews they generally turn out crap. But I can't help myself with this one as I LOVED the 1st one. I still remember the ending scene perfectly and how disappointed I felt knowing that the awesome game was over. so now that for 1st time in ages I have got my hopes set sky high for a game, so I BEG............ PLEASE B GOOD!!!! :)
If they wanted to give the cops a 50's film feel to them, they would have kept the Drum mags on the Tommy Guns like Mafia stories are supposed to have. Apart from that, everything in the game looks se-freakin' sational.
i hope this is optimized on the pc end. suffering through the multitude of badly done, port-to-pc, games as of late... tsk tsk. the game looks good, but if it runs poorly on pc's (mid-range gaming rigs are leaving ps3/x360's in the dust at this point) it'll be time to revolt.
I wasn't that incredibly looking forward to this game before this trailer, but now :) I really want to play this game now >,
