Ivy the Kiwi? E3 2010 Interview: Yuji Naka
We talk to Yuji Naka, creator of Sonic, about his brand new project Ivy the Kiwi? at E3 2010!
Yeah. I really DO hate what you mentioned though. On MTV cribs once this american girl was like "I'll show you this handshake we learnt from the "New Zealand Maori Indians" and then proceeded to touch noses with her friend while giggling hysterically". Disgraceful, seriously they basically made fun of the whole thing >.>
@dkjestrup Sorry man, I for one don't really hate how popular our country is becoming. I only hate how alot of ppl can't get facts right about NZ >_
Also, there aren't a hell of a lot of long vines in New Zealand, at least where I'm from in the North Island.
I think I speak for most New Zealanders when I say I hate how popular we're becoming overseas. First in LOTR (that was cool though, Peter Jackson is a kiwi himself) the bachelor, in books, now this, the All Whites being the only unbeaten team at Fifa WC. I have pretty mixed feelings on this.
@freek33 Well, yeah, but that was only a kiwi in name and was terribly culturally offensive (jokes :P)
I do not know... something tells me that this game does not cut it. You control a bird that has no artificial inteligence and walks in one direction and you control it with vines... It would be fun for the first 4-5 minutes but you would really need to add 5-6 more things or the ability to move things in stage to help Ivy. Would be even better if you could control the artificial inteligence with things that make the bird hungry, afraid, cold, hot, unhappy, happy, curious, etc. What about controling other characters/enemies to influence what the bird does to reach the goal? Only the vines and the continued walk in one direction with the repeated boxed pathern through the whole level will make the game mediocre.
Looks like a legitimately good game. It has this easy to learn, hard to master quality to the game-play that looks enticing.
canvas curse ripoff. Wow! Sega steals ideas again. Like how sonic was a were-hog just after twilight princess
Although I love Sonic, Sega and all, this does not excite me. "Kirby Canvas Curse" on DS has already shown something pretty close in terms of gameplay. I'm not sure about multiplayer neither, but I'll look closely for any news about it, just for the lovely visuals :)
Looks pretty cool and it has a fresh new concept, plus we know it's gonna be good Yuji Naka has something to do with it.
This would be IDEAL on the PC. Looks very interesting and I am loving the textures. This could be the next innovative platformer following Mario Galaxy(s) and Braid. Cheers, RaQin
This game just oozes with developer love. It looks fantastic, from an artistic and creative standpoint. So fresh and so clean, clean.
