Tom poured his sweat and tears into getting three gold stars in every cup in Mario Kart. Was his reward worth the effort?
Did you enjoy this video?
Short answer: Yes.
Nintendo need to give up on consoles and start making games for ps4 and xbone, it is the only way they are going to save themselves
I am not sure why Tom thought there would be some epic reward. Sorry you wasted your time Tom.
I don't understand the obsession with getting achievements in games other than bragging rights. and I hate having to do achievements to unlock items in a game any game. It makes it work and take the fun out of playing. Take BF for example. I can not even begin to guess how many hours I would have to play to unlock all the weapons and all the attachments. I've been play BF4 since it launched in November and I bet I have not unlocked 25% of the stuff and I play every weekend. It only rewards the hardcore players. Not everybody can devote their entire life to a game. Game developers are always wanting to capture the casual market yet they design games for the hardcore players. Fortunately for me I have become good enough to the point it doesn't matter I can play almost any shooter and be competitive. So nobody needs to tell me "Maybe you should play something else". I'm ok. Just saying if they really wanted more players (the casual demographic) then maybe they should consider other ways of developing games or maybe gametypes.
Question is ANY game worth getting 100% on?
Is Mario Kart 8 worth playing? Nope, and the Wii U isn't worth getting.
Hey Tim , Thanks for posting. But don't you think That the 3 Stars Title is a cool thing to show off while playing online .. just like a medal of honer. I always look at it that way in the last 3 Mario Karts .
So what is the minimum to unlock everything? 1star all? IMO the 1player mode is just an annoying way to unlock stuff for the much funnier local multiplayer mode
The idea you have the game finished for 100% alone is :P (unless there are multiplayer targets, f*ck that...)
I try this for almost all my games :)
And it's nice to have the extra's.
Well I did get 100% complete in mario kart double dash. I thought the extras were cool but not really worth the time put into it. Probably the last game I've completed at 100% was Assassin's Creed Revelations. Otherwise, I just play the game for the single player story or the multiplayer experience.
I'm not really a fan, not since SNES days anyway :), but I'm really curious about how they keep saying skill is much more a factor in this one. If that's true, this Mario Kart probably won't hit as well with the casuals and kids. Maybe that's Nintendo embracing the fact that this time around (with the WiiU) they knew there wouldn't be that massive number of those types of players.
99% of games give you nothing but a long list of credits for finishing them. I don't know why you were surprised you got nothing at the end.
I had a lot of fun watching the video. It's a credit to Tom and to Mario Kart 8. If only Nintendo released its better games on other systems...
Why are you telling us all this stuff when the game isnt even out yet, sheesh
@Unfallen_Satan Then the Wii U you would've nothing left. Sony nor Microsoft would do this, so why should they?
"Heads up their will be spoilers in this video"
@jemoedr In so far as promoting the Wii U hardware, no reason at all. If that's how Nintendo intends to use Mario Kart 8 and others like it, I think failure in the marketplace (not of the games but of the hardware) is the only way to change its mind.
