House of Horrors - Fatal Frame II Part 3 Highlights!
Those twins just can't stay out of trouble! Jess and Zorine continue the long and terrifying journey to try and complete Fatal Frame II by popular demand. How scary could it possibly get?
The two girls were really scaring. No, not the ghostly ones.. The ones actually playing!!
HA! HA! I loved this!
Great show! Keep up the good work! Also, Clive Barker's Undying is way better and probably scarier than Jericho, and I think it just got released on GOG.com.
A tip for the PS2 version final boss (on xbox,it's different,I wont spoil it) is to save the 90 and zero film, and the moment he appears,run to where the twins were performing their ritual; if you stand where they were, you'll be safe from his attack (he sends floating heads to attack),so if you remain IN that circle he WONT send those heads and he'll only try to swat at you.Wait, and watch him. He'll not enter your circle and just float around you.(I guess it's a boss exploit-it DOES work) Also, wait for that light to flash when he raises his arm, otherwise, the near constant earthquake will restore his health. Fatal Frames,combo-ing the fatal shots and NOT leaving the circle, is the ONLY way to defeat him quickly and without damage!
Why the japanese developers doesent make disturbing psihopatic horror games any more?Who agrees we need more ill japan games?
All I could think was that she'd be more effective if she had two fish lensed IR videocameras mounted in front and back of her belt.
Love the show. I wish I could have as much fun playing games as you seem to have. Playing solo is boring.
I love this show! I used to play horror games all the time, but age has turned me into a craven :-P The Project Zero games are definitely some of the best in the genre, and I wouldn't mind seeing you tackle the other games in the fanchise in future videos. I am going to keep nagging you to play Clock Tower 3 or Haunting Ground though! Those games play differently than the other games you've played, so they should be interesting if only for that fact.
As usual, great episode, ladies! :D
How about Hunting Ground or Clock Tower? Less shooting, more hiding! ;)
Since you're going for Clive Barker, you should definitely play Undying.
Btw. are there any plans to play Fatal Frame 3?
FF2 has better story, but FF3 is scarier.
I can't believe that I scared by a peeping child, just peeping child at the first watch bro.
I miss this game.
Ghosts are scary and who drops their camera?! I swear that girl is dumb, but anyway keep up the good work :)
Fatal Frame is one of the best games i have ever played.Too bad the remake that got released last year (Project Zero 2 Wii Edition) for Wii which was amazing was forgotten.Beautiful game and thanks gamespot for advertising it :P
I remember these games, they were released as "Project Zero" in my region. This was the best of the series, and second only to silent hill imo. I was playing this in a dark room with a couple of friends after school... I don't recall giggles though, only screams of terror :O
Great show, good memories :)
I have watched all 3 parts of this still i don't understand the plot.I don't mean anything bad by saying that.I have never played this game and most likely i will never will
@Mr_Pants_tent I'll check it out =]
@BloodyAura I think we're going to have to keep that notepad handy.
@BloodyAura Thanks for the tip!
@kolex5Do you mean to say,''try to save ammo (film,your strongest)''-that would be type O film by the way-''You'll need it for the final boss''-not boos. Just trying to help, not being rude.
@bgranli I really want to try any of the Clock Tower games, but they've been a pain to track down!
@luizferrarezzi They probably can't find a copy.
@Jacky_Bryant We'll check it out!
@unikat Perhaps Zorine would like that one?
@GreekDarkShadow Not long got the wii version really really good, I can't believe I missed them first time round. Can you get get any earlie/ later versions for xbox 360???
@toane Hey, it's called Project Zero in our region too.
@ogara0c9 On the list!
@hellangel_boy Thanks! Glad you liked it =]
It's hard to follow because they've skipped a lot of the text in the game and have also missed a few notebooks.
Overall, though, FaFr2 takes place in the past and the most powerful ghost is Sae. Yae lived out her life, and died outside the village (she's the great, great grandmother of the protagonist of FaFr1.), which is probably why she can't influence anything that's going on in the Village.
Yae (I think) had a crush with the kid that came with the folklore guy. (Sae is a good natured girl who just doesn't want anyone to suffer.) The kid came along because his friend went missing. His friend was the boy twin that got sacrificed. Sacrificed Boy twin's brother is locked up in that shed, who is helping Mayu/Yae escape the village. The boy's did the ritual first (a year previously), likely because the guy in charge wanted to save his daughters (Sae and Yae) from having to do the ritual. But that ritual failed, the boy's aren't as spiritually as strong as girls. Ultimately, though, Yae ran away with Sae, but Sae lost her footing and fell, (just like what happened to Mio when she was younger) Sae was captured and the head priest went ahead and sacrificed Sae... and that's when the curse overtook the village.
Although, only the surviving twin can absorb the butterfly
spirit, so that's why everything got messed up. Sae is now a very angry ghost. Sae's ghost ends up killed everyone in the
village, and the village went into limbo and disappeared from our reality.
@bdous OK, the plot is basically this. You play as the twins, Mio and Mayu, who get lost in a village and have to find their way out. On the way, they find that the village is stuck in an everlasting abyss and only the sacrifice of twin maidens will free the village. The only weapon you have to save yourself (and the entrapped village) is the Camera Obscura. If you want to know the whole story, and you aren't going to play the game, I'd look on YouTube for some "Let's Plays".
@bdous It's very hard to squeeze the plot into these little videos unfortunately. We barely understand it so far... I think a lot of it is supposed to be under wraps for the end.
Has anyone mentioned Obscure? It's not as scary as Project Zero or Silent Hill, but it's kind of funny and it has that campy low-budget feel. Obscure has a few scary moments, and is pretty fun to play if you don't take it too seriously. And you can play co-op :P
@tempertress @unikat Frankly, Jericho is a waste of potential and, ultimately, time. The setting is quite appealing (as far as old, ruined buildings go), the story, well, it's not Barkers best piece but it does its job, and the music's great, but the gameplay is plain awful. Oh, and be prepared to die a lot, as this seems to be written into the gameplay.
@Threesixtyci Whoa, that is quite a hefty backstory.
Also a thing of note.... Yae and Mayu were born second. Also, according to the butterfly ritual, it's the younger sister that gets sacrificed. There is one more important piece to this, but I don't think it's been revealed in their playthru, yet.So, right now, in the game you should see both Yae and Mayu as being selfish. And Sae and Mio, as sisters who aren't scared of staying in the village.
@JangledCat @bdous JangledCat has pretty much got it. Without spoiling too much, the twins are an integral part of the ritual that takes place in the game, and has in the past gone terrible wrong, cursing the village.
@Zorine@JangledCat thnx for replying to me .to tell you the truth i did not think anyone was gonna to reply
