Hi Girls! Enjoy your playthroughs! I have a recommendation for a game I think you would both really enjoy playing on camera (and, it is so good, I think you will both want to play it after you stop recording, on your own time).

Haunting Ground is an old PS2 game from 2005. It had amazing graphics for its time and the cutscenes still look good.

The game is scary in the way of more elegant horror games, not relying on the fear of being overwhelmed by hordes of the undead, or the gruesome spectacle of dismembered corpses strewn along your path, rather it relies on the visceral terror of being in a large, forbidding environment, defenseless, except for your wits (well...at least until you encounter man's, or in this case woman's, best friend).

The presence of a canine companion is at the heart of what makes the game special.

It is an intimate horror game. There are only 4 adversaries. They all have their story to tell. They are not "evil" necessarily, just twisted. That in itself makes them even more frightening. Initially, when all you can do is flee and desperately seek a place to hide, one's heart is very much in one's hand, later though, once you find your dog, the game changes.

You're not alone anymore. It's quite powerful. Definitely games as art making a truly human statement.

With your dog beside you, you are no longer defenseless. You form a bond.

The game is still scary. Sometimes you lose your dog.

But, as you get better at the game, you get better at protecting yourself, and maybe you can show the deranged denizens of the castle that you won't be tormented forever.

It's funny to say this about a horror game, but the story, the design, the gameplay mechanics, all combine to create a, simply put : empowering experience.

Here's a quote from the game's creator found at the end of the manual :

"I want you to connect with Fiona, and protect her, and rescue her. There are some truly unspeakable and unimaginable horrors awaiting you, but I have faith in you. You can do it."

Like I said, this game is more than just about scaring you, it's about relationships, twisted though they can be, and finding the strength to overcome fear.

Without a doubt, my favorite horror game of all time.

P.S : There are multiple endings to the game. I personally get invested into games I truly enjoy and I always aim to get the best, and most emotionally fulfilling ending. With that in mind and without giving away the game's secrets, I would recommend bearing in mind as you play that the game is not about using headshots to dispose of your foes. Rather, it is a game about relationships. Something to contemplate when choosing how you deal with the tormented residents you are trapped with.

The Cat Lady is on steam at the moment, from the reviews its freaky shit, its apparently quite texted based however. Have a look and see if it's right for HoH.
