GS News - Wii U price cut, 2DS announced and PS4 has POWER

nope the Nintendo Virtual Boy was by far the ugliest and most ridiculous looking console I have ever seen.

PS4 obviously won't be 10 times more powerful than PS3.

Ps3 WAS a POWERHOUSE!

The PS3 Cell processor still is today a goliath of a Cpu technology-wise!

Problem is that its 8 cores and uncommon architecture made it too hard and complex for game devs to program games that could take advantage of this uber architecture, hence there were a lot of games that just went and used a single core.

I still believe that the PS3 is dying while it hasn't even been totally exploited by most.

I feel like the technology couldve lasted even longer had it been used correctly.

Most game devs never really managed to suck every bit of performance the console had to offer.

Naughty dog seem like a company which really focused on making the console shine and look at what it gave us!

Naughty dog games are epic, so epic in fact that they said that they wouldn't even care to retouch their engine for upcoming PS4 titles.

If the PS4 would indeed be like 10 times the PS3, they wouldn't dare saying such a declaration.

Coming back to a x86 architecture will make it easier to take advantage of the hardware so that's probably why sony decided to make the PS4 a "simplified" console compared to what the PS4 was.

That's good cause it allows them to have a much lower retail price but technology-wise, I have a feeling the PS4 won't be the "Flagship" that PS3 has been.

I don't think the 2ds is ugly at all. It's not like the original 3ds or 3ds xl are a couple of sexy beasts. People are focusing on looks to much at the moment. Gaming isn't about looks it's about gaming. I wouldn't care if the thing looked like a slab of wood as long as the games were great.

It always takes time to really get beautiful games out of a console, so this comes as no news to me.

I don't get how the assertion that the PS4 is a powerhouse can come from Cerny's statement. Suggesting that the full potential of the PS4 won't be completely utilized for three to four years isn't indicative of the PS4's power, it's indicative of porting and dev kit troubles.

I mean, by that logic, every console is a powerhouse, given that every console's greatest graphical game doesn't come for many years. Does not make sense.

I just think equating Cerny's statement with, "the PS4 is a powerhouse," is putting a positive spin on an issue that's plagued Sony consoles for generations, and that's developers not being familiar/comfortable with their dev kits. And with the PS4, I know Cerny has said the opposite is true (publicly), but this recent statement suggests otherwise, doesn't it?

And I know, the PS3 has a cell processor, which is unique, aka a headache. But that wasn't the only reason PS3 porting was difficult.

That thing looks like a cheaply-made, children's interactive learning tool. It had better have a top-notch warranty because kids are going to break them by the thousands.

Btw in terms of name recommendations for GS News, perhaps "GS Daily Review" Monday-Thursday and then "GS Weekly Review" on Fridays?

im sorry but i think the nintendo 2ds is soo fucking stupid, i couldnt picture myself playing that. the only reason it might sell is because people wanna play the new pokemon. it would be a lot cooler if it was like all the other ds systems and that u were able to close and open it

Zelda looks incredible. As for the 2DS, criticize it all you want but it will still sell millions mark my words. Nintendo is miles ahead of Sony and Microsoft.

The 2DS is ugly

Has any handheld ever been that size? Sure, the original Gameboy was a brick, but this is 2013 and Nintendo is taking the brick to another level. The 2DS is a monstrocity. Not even '80's mobile phones were that big and unwieldy.

Instead of making the 2DS, Nintendo should release a new 3DS model with 2 analog sticks and get some hardcore games on it. In that case I would actually consider buying it. Now it looks like that the 3DS is oriented mostly at kids and the 2DS at smaller kids. It also looks ugly, I wouldn't want to be seen in public with it. Nintendo seems to be making some bizarre decisions lately. Maybe it's meant for children who lose or break all their stuff, I think my sister holds the record for destroying the most mobile phones :D

For all consoles it will take time to tune games to understand exactly how much they can handle. Just saying the PS4 is misleading.
