GS News - Microsoft Calls Fanboyism "Unhealthy” & a 1,000,000 GamerScore Obtained!
Sony has a go at Microsoft, Microsoft apologises for their Xbox One policy flip-flopping, and how did a gamer get a 1,000,000 point GamerScore?!
game is good. than expected, http://lioa.net.vn I wish both success
Fanboys are a blight to the gaming society, competition is a healthy thing in the business world. I for one am happy that both systems are selling successfully.
lately, every time MS issues a press statement, it makes them look more and more incompetent. this is no exception
He's 100% right. As gamers we should absolutely calling bullish!t on the things that are hurting the hobby we love. Micro-transactions, etc…. but slamming another system and/or it's games is stupid. If you're a Sony fan imagine how crappy the PS4 would be without the XBOX, 360 and ONE forcing them to be better and vice-versa. Imagine if there was no Nintendo? The more players in the game the better.
So, the company that tried to force consumers to buy into their draconian "future" cries "unhealthy" because their actions hurt their own business. They blame consumers for being angry... pathetic. Blame shifting, anyone?
MS needs to show some grit and take responsibility for their attack on players/consumers. Apologize publicly (Sony did that in the past), drop mandatory Kinect, change policies, and stop blame shifting. That's the behavior of a 10 year old. Ridiculous.
More than their draconian policies, MS' behavior in dealing with the problems is what has gotten me to swear off of ever buying an XBOX product. Mattrick, Spencer, Ballmer, "Major Nelson," etc. have all acted like angry spoiled children.
And prior to reveal, I was a PS person who because of the PS outage a few years back had actually planned to go XBOX this time around. Wow, would that have been a mistake.
I always wanted to meet a fanboy with such autodestructive loyalty brand that they payed me a PS4/X one just to prove their point of "why it is better". So far it hasn't happened :'(
Guess I overestimated their stupidity, or my luck :D
Yet again Jess McDonnell and the GameSpot crew continue to purposely spin up console war hate and then coyly hand the freshly-prodded community a loudspeaker (read: comment section). GS News and much of the programming on this site continues to focus on this completely meaningless console war badgering, as opposed to affecting a productive discussion about gaming. There are countless more meaningful topic to focus on, but I guess console war vitriol provides more cheap thrills and brings more traffic. Step up your game, GameSpot, your competition is killing you with content.
Fanboyism is unhealthy, in the meantime, check out our largest fanboy who just achieved a million gamer points! We have congratulated him on his dedication to the xbox by putting him in the spotlight for it!
Nobody with a Gamerscore below 50.000 should be allowed to post on Xbox-Articles, nobody with less than 2.000 trophies should be allowed to post on PS-Articles and nobody who didn't send scanned copies of bills proving that his elitist PC cost at least 1.500 $ or more should be allowed to post on PC-Articles. This has 2 advantages:
First it removes the unnecessary clutter of messages on many topics and secondly it should seperate the different fanboys into 3 clearly segregated camps and should thus greatly contribute towards world peace and all that.
P.S. My suggestion is probably a bit tricky to implent when an article or video mentions all three of the above leading to no postings at all.
Microsoft is like a huge big-name brawler and Sony is the sly tough counter-puncher...at least when it comes to marketing strategy.
My gamerscore is at 75,000 and that took time, I'm frightened at how many bad games that dude had to 100% to get 1,000,000G! Yowzers!
on a different but really doesnt matter note, the pretty lass in the pics above has the exact same face in every pic
AWESOME! looking at the comments below I am THRILLED to see most everyone can read straight through this M$ bull! Rawk on everyone! M$ only hates the fanboyism because they're suffering bad right from launch, what they really mean is they hate that people shook off their consumerism for five minutes and acted like customers and chose the superior piece of hardware(for a lesser price) and were willing to just say NO to being force fed a camera at an extra obligational cost. That aside, I do agree that fanboyism is a problem, but humans naturally take sides and for various reasons. I try to be objective between the two, I did buy a Ps4 but I was a serious 360 fan and until the X1 'reveal' event I was certain I was going to buy an X1. However now I do usually recommend the Ps4 to people on the fence about buying a new gen console, unless they're more interested in facebook and fantasy football than video games, people who want a media platform probably should get an X1, but people who want games and movies should get a Ps4. Objevtively thought out or not though, people will be biased based on their objective values, I recommend the Ps4 now, but I know in 6-8 months I'll be recommending a Steam Machine over everything but that is because of what I am looking for in a gaming/entertainment unit. The big isssue is how intense some people get over it, I'll tell you what I prefer but I'm not going to bash you for preferring something else and as long as your reasons make sense why should I care? We need to stop being so hateful towards each other and start focusing on how some companies like EA and MS are slowly trying to transission the market to a cloud format where all content is leased instead of owned. Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, PC... we all LOVE GAMES regardless of our native console platform, let's stop taking sides against each other and take a look at how some companies are attempting to capitalize on our love of games?
Haha. "Fanboyism is unhealthy... if you're a playstation or nintendo fanboy. But if you're a microsoft fanboy, it's cool"
Clearly not all PS4 owners are fanboys. However, fanboys are THE MOST obnxous PS4 owners, period. My family owns both the XB1 and PS4, but after seeing the sorry a** posts on this site for the last 8 months, I can tell you neither me or anyone is my family are all that proud to be called PS4 owners. As gamers, we just don't broadcast it like we do with our PS3.
It's obvious to all us now that MS dropped the ball with the XB1, but there is such thing as conducting yourself with some amount of maturity and dignity. To this day, I still cringe at the thought of taking my PS4 online, knowing many of you are on there.
that's funny--during the last generation of consoles where xbox was outselling the ps3--- the more xbox fanboys got on these sites and did nothing but bash the ps3 but now the ps4 is outselling the xbox one and now the fanboys are at a ridiculous high--Microsoft says now it is unhealthy..
I just know I am not a fanboy seeing the systems I own will prove that-- I got ps3 ps4xbox360 xbox one wii u----I am not a fanboy I am a gamer lets all try get along--if cant get along with something as simple as games and gaming how we expect to along anywhere else
Microsoft: "Fanboyism is unhealthy."
Microsoft: "Fanboyism is unhealthy for our sales when it's not to our convenience."
My 325 gamerscore is the envy of all my friends. And to be fair, I don't even own an Xbox console. That's just the points I got on an Games for windows live title on PC.
2400 GSP a weeeekk... Hmmmm Thats insane.
I honestly just want too know if he has a job, and if he does what it is. Because I am very jealous of his free time. Idc how he uses it, just jealous he has sooo much of it.
According to xbox 75000+ is champion? SOOO whats a Million....
Well Microsoft's original plans for the Xbox One made me an anyone-but-Microsoft fanboy, so I find this hilarious.
As a fanboy, I can say that it's a healthy thing. We drive passion in the community and have helped build a thriving gaming industry. Who adopts consoles first? We do! Who every title in a series day one and all the DLC? We do! Who routinely convinces others to buy our product of choice, and boosts more revenue for the industry? We do! So, next time you think about being a hater about your friendly neighborhood fanboy, consider the good we're doing.
@stickybun I cannot undertand why this companies the more competence they have ,the more crappier they went. This must be quite the opposite but no.I just disagree with what are you saying. If they cannot handle the competence ,well then, bye, bye, What else can be done or said?
@stickybun He wouldn't have purchased his PS4 for "only" $399 w/o Microsoft. Dumb young Americans...all socialists, have no idea that competition is GOOD and HEALTHY for everyone involved!
@battlefront1943 Ok...but they've done all that already and then some...cry somewhere else you bitch!
@battlefront1943 you must have just learned the word draconian today. good for you
Interesting, but I didn't get that at all. In fact, Spencer's comments exhibit the exact opposite of what you're referring...Did you watch the entire video?
@Torvar72 Why do posters spend so much time thinking about the sex lives of other males?
Ironically, I think the guy is married, pretty normal, and actually works out (aside from spending significantly more of his free time than most playing video games).
@omgitsdrlove She obviously way out of your league dude. Go get a copy of How to Impress Chicks for Dummies.
@clynch0527 nah, he prolly bought a ps4 by now
@clynch0527 Hit the nail on the head!
@hinzkunz Way off target here...people with 50k gamerscore, 2k trophies and $2k pc obviously only play one platform. They all have biased opinions. Those are probably the people that shouldn't post.
I'm at around 42,000 and I've had my Xbox since 2007...That, and I feel like I probably play it too often as it is. I can't even imagine the time sink that is 1 million points...
The mental gymnastics are strong with this one...
@GSGuy321 MEh...at least Xbox One has actually released games.
@Vividnightmare Yeh... but it's not right targeting only MS...or "M$" ... come on guy ... really? :)) you think PS is not P$? :)) They are both companies that want and need money. But at the end of the day we should only care which console is better. And up till now, both consoles seem to be the same, pretty much, but the PS is cheaper. In the long run all it matters is the game library (those fucking exclusives) those will decide what console is "better" because we want the good GAMES and not the console itself. From the beginning of the "gaming" age all that mattered were the games not the consoles. Who cared that the Atari 5200 was a more powerful machine, everybody was still playing on there old 2600 because it had better games. :)
@fluffy_kins they didn't say that... but they are trying to make PS look like a bully...
@poster012 if you're not obnoxious like the stereotype you may be forgiven for being so.
You don't drive "passion" in the industry, you drive idiocy and blind hatred. Screw fanboys.
Sorry dude, famboism is not good, and i feel sorry for you for wearing such a shameful badge with such honor. Being a fan is not the same as being a fanboy.
