COD is getting old, much needed new material badly.......I am not interested at this point, until, not a ghost, but some real good (new) game play.

Real people in a trailer normally means its the same game as last year and they have nothing new to show.

COD is an interesting franchise.  It built up the FPS genre.  Then through its failure to address the "camping problem," it single-handedly killed the genre it had built.  We'll see if this new direction for the series will help undo the damage its predecessors had done.  I'd love to see a new COD title that finally addresses the genre-destroying campers!

The guy who said they needed something new almost got fired. I wonder how awesome his speech must have been.

The trailer sounds like "The old.new repackaged" nothing new really, lets wait for the 21st of May.

The first COD that i will avoid based on my last two deceptions. 1 Sort the servers 2 Find a way to ban all switch laggers 3 Ban anyone using SPECIAL controllers 4 Make a plain level field where someone with 30 megs internet speed can make someone with 100 megs sweat for their Killstreaks. 5 Abolish payable DLC for maps you have ripped us enough.

This might, just might be the best Call of Duty since the original modern warfare. It will need a load of new gameplay features, as well as a GOOD campaign, i'm talking 10 hours, NOT filled with cut scenes...

It's a comforting thing to hear 'innovation'  with the CoD series.  I'm interested to see what they bring, and will fairly leave skepticism until the reviews have been made.

Who knows?  Maybe we will get what GoldenEye brought to the N64 on launch in the modern age?  I encourage to keep the hopes up, and to put a bit of faith in people who know how to design, implement, and utilize creativity in a game.

Fair comparison: CoD4  brought the most addictive multiplayer nearly a decade ago that is still the basis for FPSs to this day.  Think of the tech being brought to the table now with next Gen consoles.. fan boys or not of any system.. we are soon to reach the next step in gaming.  Give the titles a shot!

It's hard to imagine a Cod worse than MW3 or LagOps2 but this series is about innovation.

finally a new engine , hopefully they'll use regional servers and have better matchmaking /spawning for MP or it will be a fail in my book.

So cross-gen the game means which: that the graphics will be dumb down for the old gen on the  new gen or will be half thought out for the old gen since the focus will be more on the new gen systems? I'm pretty sure that CoD 2 for the 360 launch date suffered for being cross-gen for the xbox and ps2!

@tenz01 I think "nothing new to see here" is implied by the announcement of a CoD game.

@huyckb04 rainbowsix built the genre. counterstrike perfected it. call of duty put it mainstrain and killed the genre.

@eLLiptiX What people are you talking about? This isnt the original IW, this is the IW that brought you MW3. I'm excited to hear that they are creating something "new" with this series...but then again...MW3. Not bad, but certainly refined copy and paste

@tenz01  Ubisoft has RS: Patriots in the pipeline, CS:GO came out last year, and ARMA 3's available in alpha; genre's not dead. Call of Duty's just for people who have different, more arcade-y tastes. And I don't exactly understand why shooters going mainstream is necessarily a bad thing. What's wrong with more people enjoying our shared hobby?

@ThAdEa82 @eLLiptiX  ... I'm not talking about a development group or any sort of production team.  I am talking about the series as a whole.  Of corse I know the difference when talking about which team brought us what game.

You don't see me pointing out Halo's change in teams or who brought what to the table since Bungie left the title to 343..  I'm more interested in the series' evolution.

They = Whoever is making what at whatever time.
