why do you guys from SE still working on a HD version of Final Fantasy X? why not just put all your talents and time doing a remake or a continuation of the previous and popular Final Fantasy titles like 7 and 8. with the old gameplay and a very good graphics that we now have in the current and next-gen, i dont see any reason why these will not make a BIG impact on us gamers. I"ll always be a fan of the Final Fantasy series, but really, you could make what we really wanted.
why only now? when ps4 is already out and ps3 is fading, when FFXII & FFXII-2 's gameplay is already to good so you wouldn't care goin back in these oudated games.
The HD remix looks pretty sharp, but I was never really all that impressed with FFX's story or its characters. There just wasn't anything palpable about the story to me, and the combat system felt a little dated. The more open world feel of FFXII is what I preferred, which is why I didn't care much for the "Step-back" FFXIII took.
Ok this doesn't look like a simple resolution upgrade, it looks like a new graphics engine. It looked sooo different. I can't wait for this game. I kind of wish that the games have some extra bonus content as well and trophy support.
A fantastic job remastering the game, and a fantastic choice of a scene to demonstrate it, I can remenber how excited I was for what was coming after this scene.
HOWEVER, some games are only played once. I shutter to think about all those blitzball games, the hunting, the most powerful weapons. It was a loooooooot of work and there is no way in hell I'm doing it all again. Looks sweet, but i'll pass.
I usually don't care too much about graphical overhauls but SWEET JESUS this game looks good. Even though I've still got my PS2 copy, I think I'm going to end up getting this again. Goddamn,
I'm so tired of seeing the Square Enix logo plastered on everything that Squaresoft made before the companies merged.
Also sick of this game not having a release date - it's not coming out in 2013 so let's just get that out of the way.
It certainly does look pretty. The gameplay is the same though and I've played so many hours of this game. And yet, I'm strangely drawn to it. Well, if buying this game and the Vita will get the IZJS XII out on the Vita then I'm picking this up.
Looks pretty cool, but how hard would it be to render Tidus' necklace in 3D for the remake instead of making it paperthin?
It may just be "To Zanarkand" playing in the background, but right now I'm looking forward to this more than pretty much any other game on the horizon.
Am I the only person that actually prefers the original? It has an aura about it that I think the 'cleaned up' remaster is missing, and that I think actually suits the game's premise.
The crisp, clean-cut straight lines don't really do anything for me.
I can't believe it looked so wack back at 2003 :/
anyway it looked perfect back then. With the so called "remaster" I expected a little more honestly.
@Slyqc this had better graphics then 12 did
@Grenadeh most likely not it will be out this year, just not until the fall. I'm tired of it not having a release date as well.
@Grenadeh The game was made after the fusion so its normal that its stamped as Square Enix.
@Squirrelatwar not hard at all, but since its a remaster lighting and texture quality (size) is focused on.
Now, Id love to see this game completely re-made with the new engine and hardware :)!
@Apastron Well, I certainly don't prefer the originial, but I get where you're coming from. It can happen with any game where you just up the resolution of textures across the board. Some blur can actually help to hide ugly graphical seams. And, when texture resolution is noticeably higher on characters than environments, it can make them feel more detached from reality. There's also the example of Tidus's chain necklace, which was blurry enough before that you could pretend it was 3D... but now that it's sharper it *very clearly* isn't, which is kind of jarring.
In general though, I'm okay with the trade-off here. They did a better job with it than most HD remakes. My only big complaint is they markedly re-structured Tidus's face... rounding off and narrowing his jawline, giving him more caucasian-looking eyes, making the curve of his eyebrows less aggressive... such that he doesn't quite look like the same character anymore (much more nondescript, really). I can't fathom why they felt the need to change him that way.
@amir_g_m ehh, not really though. I mean the point of a remaster is to make textures larger and smoother, round off sharp edges update the lighting system nothing more.
Now if it was a remake this would be bad, but since its not...
@AtheistPreacher Completely agree about Tidus. When I saw the screenshot of him a few months ago I had to double-take.
