Fact:

DMC 1 Awesome, DMC 2 SUCKS HARD!, DMC 3 awesome, DMC 4 sucks! In 4 games 2 are good! DMC 2013 is a good game better then 2 and 4 for sure lol

And this DMC is like the others, with things even more better like the combat system. All this hate is because dante dont have white hair lol! How can some people say they remove everything from the pass DMCs lol, i can guess they never play this one, because its ALL THERE, hack and slash, dark humour, combo system, great story, dante and his attitudes  better graphics and design, etc etc. I can bet most of the complainers bough the game...

These fanboy tears are MMMMMMMM delicious.  The ignorance is not so tasty.  If a series is only 50% good, it's not a sacred cow.  And this is coming from someone who loves 1 and 3.

Fanboys wanted to see their hatred legitimized, and it wasn't.  They want "the real Dante" to return, and he won't.  I think that is hilarious.  Glad to see someone willing to laugh at this insanity.

I am not a regular GS user and I only get on once in a while to watch a review or find a release date BUT since I found this show I'm probably going to start coming here a lot more :).On topic though: I've played all the dmc games to death and loved them(well liked 2) but even if it's a bit weird for long time fans of the series the game is still a good one.It has both good and bad parts but I'm sure they can improve a lot of things in a sequel. In short I was skeptical about the reboot but all in all it turned out to be pretty decent.Remember the old dmc and at least try to give the new one a shot...you might actually end up enjoying it.Sorry for the lenghty comment.

Going through feedbackula episodes. after the anti-sexism episode, wierd that the only 'troll' comment in this video is voiced by a lady (Jess, maybe). people might take offend, gamespot (all the deductions that can be made are sexist). but it was very funny. really like the comment voiceovers.

Look....its a REBOOT, how many reboots do you know that are exactly like the old versions? If you dont like it! dont play it! I was hesitant at first too, but it was actually a fun game.

I kinda hated the demo.

The series has reached into a halt IMO, rebooting it was wise.

So i gave it a shot and i didnt regret. Its a REBOOT, this Dante is just a kid, not the mature hero we knew, he may become that eventually, but this moment of his life shows why he always was so cooky.

The animations are great, the gameplay is fun and the characters are not as swallow as before.

All these elements and the enhanced story telling and graphics make it objectively, a better game comparing it to the previous ones. Not your cup of tea? Your choice!

It seems that Capcom, are rebooting thier fans as well as their series, they aim for a younger audience, they aim for the future. And this younger audience has little concerns of the things we have valued in the past.

IT's kinda nice how this game separated those who thinks about what they're playing from mindless consumers that like everything that shown down their throat.

"there are people who don't defend the game or attack it either"

Yeah, those without a fanboy prejudice that are actually playing it, since it is a good game.

Just goes to show how ignorant some gamers can be. Some people are so afraid of change. Oh well I find the new DMC way better then it's predecessor. And the whiny little babies get their way in the end with Dante's black hair anyway.

The positive feedback you've been hearing?  It's true.  This is going to be an excellent reboot of the series.  Ninja Theory knows what they're doing.  For starters, their main character isn't a Resident Evil reject.  Secondly, they have a guideline to follow, so their story won't be a chronological disaster.  Seriously, when a game series follows 3,1,4,2, you know you've fucked up pretty badly.  Capcom realized this, and so commissioned Ninja Theory to clean up their mess.  From what I've seen, Ninja Theory has held up their end of the bargain exceptionally.

The combat in DmC is simple, yet with the potential to be very deep.  The gameplay offers an excellent depth to complexity ratio, that allows the player to have as much fun with the combat in proportion to how fast their fingers can move and what possible murder methods they can think of.  It doesn't require you to learn and memorize a ton of rules, and there isn't more weapons than you can handle.  A beginner can pick up the game, smash some buttons and win.  A vet can own the game, dance across their buttons, and become a whirlwind of devastation. The story, while not bad, certainly isn't the game's strong point.  That being said, it is still better than what it was before.  All the main characters in the game are relative to the main plot.  Dante and Vergil now have more personality, Mundus is more than a trio of glowing orbs and a statue.  There's no weird romance with Trish, no whiney Nero, no completely, and utterly pointless Kirie and Lady.  It tells you what happened to Sparda, it tells you why your enemy is such an asshole.  The plot leaves more than enough room for a complex story to tell in its sequel.  A story that will follow the first, make sense, and actually be relevant to the overall plot arc.

I really enjoyed they stylized/realism art style of the game as well.  Ninja Theory used the idea of a separate realm brilliantly, distorting the world in ways that we've seen, but have never really experienced in a video game.  The fact that they called it limbo was slightly irritating, as their demon realm has nothing in common with the limbo described in Dante's Divine Comedy.  The reference was not needed, as a simple "demon realm" would have sufficed.  But naming aside, using limbo to effectively destroy and distort the real world was new and exciting, and it allowed itself not only to be a cunning plot device, but also gave the designers the creative freedom to design all kinds of whacky and entertaining levels.

I have yet to try the game but it seems nice as for the idea of dante being new, I am indifferent. New studio, new direction I get that. the fighting in the game doesn't look so bad my opinion may change so I will let you know what I think.

I want to buy this game but i wasn't going to drop 60 bucks on a game (or serious) that doesn't rank in my top 10. that has nothing to do with the reboot of DMC. hell, i like it a lot. i like the new style of it and i like the new donte (honestly, it was donte that kept me away from really enjoying the series). but to each their own i suppose.

What would happen if Ninja Theory maintaned the gameplay of the other games and the characters, but CREATED A NEW STORY? I think there would be much less complain about the game.

People Should learn something about Risk. Why you try to change something that is so good already? If you want to get better, FIX the BROKEN stuff... history, yes, reboot the history, but why the whole game???

They've taken the risk, and it happened as everyone expected, the actual fans got mixed feelings about this game, some liked it, other didn't. They've hitted new audience with this game, but failed in achieving the fans's expectations.

Now if they go back to the older franchise, what should happen? the fans of THIS game will complain that the game changed for worse, or maybe saying that the old style of game is just too hard.

But as to expect, the final client of the game will still get mad about something like that.

Change is good, the new History of the game feels somewhat better than the older, but the aspects that makes the game feel good changed too...

Is like making Demon's soul or Dark Souls an easier game to go for a broader audience, but the game delivers an experience, to be a HARD KICK ASS GAME TO BEAT, so you feel something good at the end of the game, if they've maked it easier... people WILL COMPLAIN. it's a fact.

What is the solution to DMC? Go back with the older gameplay, maintain the older character design, maintain the older (non cursing) scripts, but REWRITE the history with the older characters and Devil arms and etcetera. This would make less people angry and maintain the game as a classic.

Megaman still a classic and what happened when they made the game 3D? no one played (Megaman X7 and X8)... I still wants a Megaman that plays a lot like the DMC, but the expectations would be when you'd get to the boss fights... well... Capcom needs a new direction... they should try to understand the market a little better and stop worriying about their income.

@ShinShun Im with you too! I believe that Capcom has a reason to do so when the former creator of dmc move to other studio. I was a person who didnt really want a reboot of this game cause I missed the old Dante too! however I think that we should give the new one a chance if we truely love Dante! After playing this game, I know that Im right to believe in Ninja Theory n Capcom. beside, the things I hope they will look into in the next DmC are the boss fight n Dante's Devil Trigger. Dante's DT is cool but I hope that DT wont throw enemies in the air n stop the time like it did in this game.  Btw, Dante need to have some cool Demon form (or Nephelim form lol) in the future!

@ShinShun yah i am with u bro i really loved and enjoy the game its kind of fun

ricky9999
ricky9999

@InquisitorCrox I think the difference they made to this game is the way they introduce new Dante n his family. Dante n Virgil r now Nephelim ( I think this is fair for him when he fight demon alone :D the old Dante is a half human-demon n he has to fight Mundus - a demon king n an immortal being) who has the power of both Angel n Demon. Now he is strong enough to face any immortal being lol

@DarkJessie20 ^^ me too but this game is a cool reboot! even the former creator of dmc supports NT n Capcom in this reboot!

ricky9999
ricky9999

@furabia I think that Capcom cant go back to old Dante again with 2 reasons:

1- There r some problems in the right to take the tittle Devil May Cry n its character since the former creator leave Capcom. (he made bayoneta with so many things related to DMC while he not own this title anymore)

2- The storry of the old game is too weak for a cool game nowadays! they need to change it.

I love this reboot as long as the Dante is in my heart ^^ (cause this is still the Dante I know)!

@Greylith Exactly, the series goes 3,1,4,2. No wonder it got a reboot, stupid fanboys need to get their heads out of the sand and wake up to it. The franchise died twice, (DmC4 was so lackluctser I cried and *shivers* DmC2). When the announced this reboot 2 years ago I was'nt supprised, the series has needed one.
