EB Games Expo 2011: Interview With EA's Peter Moore
Dan Chiappini sits down with EA COO Peter Moore at the EB Games Expo 2011 to discuss Origin's roots and EA's intentions with the service, his thoughts on the digital market, how he searches for gamer opinions, and his keynote address regarding how popular demand will shape the industry.
I suppose, given the opportunity, I'd like to ask him some questions. Such as: why EA waited until the threat of a class-action lawsuit before adjusting its inhumane treatment of employees, why they are forcing people to use Origin and turning existing EA accounts into Origin accounts then bragging about their numbers, why Origin is essentially spyware, why they believe that milking franchises for everything they're worth just to make a buck is good for the industry. It's gross what EA does for money; even South Park made light of this. It's a shame that so many people are blind to their actions, allowing them to be successful. Pretty soon EA will be one of the only publishers left, and you will no longer see any niche games. They will all be generated through some popularity algorithm that allows for the highest profit margin. I guess some will be happy with Battlefield 15, Mass Effect 12, Madden 150 and whatever random attempt to dominate the online market that they're attempting at the time, but I won't be.
Awesome Interview and nice and long to!, I've always liked Peter Moore he's a good guy he knows his stuff, I wish we had more interviews like this.
@ Gelugon_baat me too. i thought that EA was just another corporate giant that didn't listen to the gaming community but from this video i learned that they do.
origin..........= "i wish i was STEAM". Im still mainly a STEAM fanboy really. Just today it has loads of games on special. Ive bought over 100 games on STEAM and pretty happy with STEAM's service. There's only 3 games id ever buy from EA. Mass Effect, BF3 (maybe), FIFA 12, Dragon Age It pretty much stops there with EA games. Most of my games arent EA games. Crysis maybe. But ive bought Crysis 1 off STEAM already.
Peter Moore was great to see yesterday. He really does know his stuff, and this interview just shows it. It would have been great to get an opportunity to ask him questions yesterday.
