It looks quite interesting but xcom for me is sectoids, strategy, replayability, and complete freedom to do whatever I want to do. I'm expecting linear boredom...
Is the one who made this video really stupid enough to not see that the 2 screenshots at 3:36 aren't from Xcom?
How can you say "return to the original" and at a same time make it a FPS. Sigh... Then I again, I guess they gotta pay their wages and games that are intellectually challenged like the first Xcoms were don't sell so great these days.
Yeah the first time i watched this i thought the graphics where old though, I'm looking past that now days and more towards the delivery of a story/world that they have created...& well i feel asif i dreamt this game a year ago! pitty i dont have a console to play this :( X( |
He's saying they're honouring the original and that this isn't just another fps. It's got a strategic layer too. Well how about showing us just that instead of only the fps action scenes? I hear them claiming this is X-Com but everything they show me so far isn't. How about showing us your awesome strategic layer soon because you haven't shown diddly so far.
This looks like it could be something really interesting. It's different and that's what pushes the industry forward and makes it easier for everyone to make better games in the future.
looks somewhat interesting, I like the idea of risk/versus reward, and the careful and tactical gameplay.
What the hell was with those two screen shots that arn't even from the game lol. Maxwell McGee. Be careful of this man. Good interview.
I had my doubts but it sounds like they might pull this of. I hope there's some base building in there though, I've always enjoyed that part the most for some reason.
It's a reboot of the franchise. Hasbro / Atari were working on a FPS squad based tacticle shooter in the 1990's (X-Com - Alliance http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/xcomalliance/index.html?tag=result%3Btitle%3B6 ) just after Microprose feel apart, but it that got canceled. I had my some doubts about "XCOM", but it seems to be shaping up rather well so far.
