I used to play dungeon keeper in my youth, which wasn't that long ago seeing as I am as of yesterday 18, loved it to bits, I won't get all pretentious about that era of gaming and go on about how I am somehow more awesome because I like X-Com and played Deus Ex, 'cos it's pointless. What I will say however is, a remake or not I am just happy to see such a fantastic idea revived, I have had a copy of DK Gold around for years now and can't get it to work on my comp at all which makes me excited that this modern take could be just as good and compatible, it will never be the same but who cares, 12 years is enough time for something new :)
Remake, Clone, Rip-off..call it whatever you want..but when it is about Dungeon keeper, that we most loved since it was released 97 or 98, it's nothing but awsomeness And hence the release date of 97/98, by default makes the new generation of "gamers" have no clue what this game is about, or in the heck what it is. Since they was probaly to young to even hold the old heavy Game Boy back then Someone said (with a "cool" night-elf picture avatar from WoW>_>) that these games are just about to pass the time....Ehm, ALL games are made to pass the time. Nah so ignore the ignorant posters that do not know the good old classic of PC platform gaming, that do not know what developers of their beloved games played when they was the "younger" generation. Pre-ordered = done
I just hope they put as much thought into the monsters as DK did... Not sure how I feel about the new imp look.
i wrote to ea games a long time ago about making a dk game 3 or something, my prayers has bean hear !! fu...""!! gin awesome . BUT don't make a mass wish this game ,pleases , i set my faith in here! and so do a lot of other fans two! so every body , cheers and let dk role again
We HAVE played DK. That's the very reason we're excited! Well, it's the reason I'm excited, anyway. DK (esp. the 1st) is my all time favourite strategy game, and I've been desperate for another installment; and while this may not be officially part of the series, it's pretty f****ing damn close! I just hope they don't c*ck it up.
I really need this to be a Dungeon Keeper ripoff. DK II still gets a bit of action over here, and it is still a great game to run at LAN parties.
I really hope this is going to be the next DK :D I really love the DK series:( to bad they died!! oh no im going to cry now...
I hope this new game will be total DK ripoff, because new ideas can destroy my hope to play something like DK again!!!
This game isn't like DK 1 or 2, nor is it a rip-off. Look at Kalypso Media's forum on dungeons, if you really want to know what it is.
hmm... I'm not too sure about this one, I loved DK 1 and 2 so all I will be doing is comparing this to those two great games! Not sure if this will shape up to expectations but I hope it does! Who else loved the bile demons??!?!
i remember the awesome videos on Dungeon Keeper 1&2, they were good and the games were great i just hope this game will be similar and good.
Didn't this trailer come out a few years ago? Either way, I'm glad to see this games still about. DK needed someone to do a reboot since Bullfrog went under.
Can't wait to get my hands on this game! Finally something to remind me of good old Dungeon Keeper that I finished multiple times, DK2 like 2 times cuz it wasnt as atmospheric as first one but still amazing! This intro is so original DK intro when a Knight entered dungeon but it was Bile Deamon and Horner Reaper who messed him up lol check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N5ODEGR1KQ
I love Dungeon Keeper, DK2 is a game I still play today, and I call it the best game I've ever played. This looks like a possible Dungeon Keeper but somethings missing o_0. At the same time I'm trembling with excitement.
Mmmmm... Dungeon Keeper and DK II. I spent many MANY hours playing these games. "It is the witching hour, curses are half price". And, "Go to bed!" Little easter eggs you would hear the narrator say when playing at midnight at 1 am. lol. Here's hoping this lives up to the "prequels". :) I already tagged this.
Guys this is a teaser trailer of a game which does not have a title, the hint is in the fact that like AradianEye says this is almost exactly like the intro for dungeon keeper. this will be the next dungeon keeper not just a ripp off, they made a deliberate choice to get people to associate this with dungeon keeper and look at the comments it has bloody worked ;) cannot wait to see more off this
The imp running away from a knight...this is so Dungeon Keeper. I hope It has something new and better. Too many years has passed since we saw DK :P
@taevion0 what? how does 32-bit graphics suck? I think this game has huge potential. Its basically a rip off from Dungeon Keeper, which i love :D
@Nodashi Reusing and refining existing ideas is pretty much the basis of any game these days. Unless the use registered trademarks or infringe on any patents there's really nothing to sue about.
@Nodashi Hey, I see a big lawsuit for Rage vs Borderlands, and Castlevania vs GOW, but it's not like anyone cares. I'm not really sure what qualifies as stealing these days.
So... did they buy Dungeon Keeper's license? Otherwise I see a BIG lawsuit forming on the horizon...
ii, when i first saw the description of the trailer, i was like: OMG OMG Dungeon Keepers 3 is out. :P
Dungeon Keeper someone? Man, I remember seing this game everywhere as a kid, yet I only had the demo.
Once you read the latest Dungeons impressions article this video makes a lot more sense, although it does - admittedly - still look significantly like Dungeon Keeper. This probably isn't a bad thing given how long it's been since the last game - and the quality of that game! Fingers crossed it works out well.
