Why do you have the gamma up so high on the 360 version??? It looks much better if it isn't so washed out, which is what happens when you put the gamma WAY too high. It's ridiculous you didn't even notice it...
I unlocked the frame rate on the 360 and it got rid of that cloudy look. Makes it look alittle sharper - still no as good as PC tho. But awesome game either way so.. all good.
Ok watch it and must conclude PC wins big time. I am a Ps3 owner and must say that that is the one on second place. so I am happy :). but to be fair all games look way better on a PC the hardware is so much better then the Ps3 and Xbox. but then again the consoles do it really well
Enjoy your blurry, lack of details and lighting, and low resolution textures console gamers. (points and laughs)
PC loos best obviously and thats without seeing the resolution difference since the video is at 720p and for people saying you need an insaine rig to run it is wrong I ran 60fps locked with vsync on ultra using 3 year old hardware you could build for under 400 dollars if you already have a monitor.
That clown scared the crap out of me! He was peering into my soul!!! Brrrrr. OK as for graphics. At this point, you have to expect a PC to kick the crap out of XBox or PS3. Also, why are we bothing with graphic comparisons other than to fan the fanboys. If you have not chosen your video game console of choice(s), you live under a rock.
The difference between PS3 and 360 is, as usual, so narrow as to be nonexistent. Some bits looked slightly better on the 360, some better on the PS3. It's nice that (finally) the PS3 versions are looking at least as good as on the 360. For most of this generation, the 360 has had the edge. That the PC version looks leagues better is no surprise.
PC has the upper hand when it comes to graphics for this particular game, but i have played PS3 games that are strictly exclusive for the PS3 console and i think they are equally good. Wait until PS4.
Clearly the PC has the best graphics but not everyone has a PC that can play games on ultra settings. Either way it is a great game regardless of what system it is played on. I am surprised that the PS3 version looked a little better than the Xbox 360 version.
I was lucky enough to play the game completely maxed out on PC, and I knew thered be a difference before reviews and irrational themselves said so, but damn... the high res textures make a world of difference. The console version looks like you're playing the game while wearing someone elses glasses.
Was the money I spent on my AMD 7970 worth it? Yes. Yes it was. This is a pretty good example for you console gamer's to see why.
I honestly believe that a lot of console gamers would go PC if they actually saw the difference in person. My brother gave me crap about spending $1100 on my PC until he looked at my version of GTA 4 with HD textures, iCEnhancer, and car models with more detail than any racing game ever made all while running at 2560x1440 at frame rates higher than the ~30 or so of consoles. He is now a PC gamer and has told me more than once that he could never go back to consoles. Are PC's more expensive? Yes they are, but you get so much more out of them. Not to mention the fact that with services like Steam and GMG PC gamers get the pleasure of being able to get games much cheaper much sooner than console gamers. I think I got Borderlands 2 for like $35 the day it came out from GMG. Those savings in games add up quick. Not to mention DA GRAFICS!!! :-D
Back to Bioshock Infinite: The 1337 Edition...
I am not sure how relevant these comparisons are. This game was likely optimized for the current generation of consoles & tvs and not a highend (as it is always changing anyway) pc & monitor.
Also if you have an xbox or ps3 are you really going to change platforms for something you will only possibly notice in this type of side by side demo?
During the last scene comparison. The PS3 looks more realistic compared to the PC. The PC looks more like a cartoon judging the outline of the character. The colors blend in better with the PS3.
I don't know why they keep doing these. In just about EVERY case it goes Best: PC, Better: PS3, and Good: 360. The PC is usually the one on top if you have the rig to run games at their highest. Great game on any platform though.
Can some1 explain why the 360 version is so cloudy? I have the 360 version and its really not an attractive feeling like your running around in fog, no other games I have are like it, I dont see why Irrational would have it in their game, especially after the original bioshock which was gorgeous in 2007!!.. Pathetic that a game 6 years older than it looks 100% better
PC always has upper hand, you can clearly see different between pc and ps3/360, in 360 feel fog in screen ps3 looks more nicer, anyway you will enjoy the game no matter what console you play in.
Finally; They put PC in the middle. Thanks Gamespot. Remember the video player only goes to 720p so if you have a 1080p monitor and play the game on PC it will look even better. O.O
To people who think console gaming is much cheaper than pc gaming. believe me guys, you can assemble a 500 Dollar PC which is way more powerful than consoles and even runs crysis 3 on ultra settings with acceptable FPS. the frame rate may drop to average 20 something in this case but i think it still worth it.
@dude102 yeah, it ran fine on my 5 year old rig too, only dx10, but still looked alot better than the consoles and I hardly notice the difference on my new rig with dx11.
@supamoha most certainly
@osxgp Sadly, you're right. This is the first game I am going to buy and play again when I build my gaming rig. I already beat this game, but I want to have the Ultra experience.
@osxgp i played it on very high at around 50fps on a 5 year old pc with a 2.4 ghz dual core cpu and a 150$ gpu i bought 2 years ago and the only difference between ultra and very high is the texture detail, ultra being run on dx11 but enabling that would make my game go under the 30fps mark, so you dont need a good pc to play it and it looks like a different game compared to the console versions
@AndroidVageta i was thinking about going for the amd 7950 boost (currently on 560ti oc'ed), what sort of framerate do you get on ultra settings?
@FoeCrusher You're right, you only know the difference when it's side by side like this, but that doesn't change the fact it does look better on PC on ultra. It's not knowing that it's better than the console version, but it's seeing it on PC in the amount of detail that gives you a little more immersion. But to each his own.
@WhoDat33 Turn graphics down on pc and you get the same blur of textures
@WhoDat33 No... and don't even try.
@MontyPython4-r If graphics did not mean much why buy a next gen console or even this gen over last gen because this gens games have been mostly stale
@MontyPython4-r It certainly made my experience with the game that much more awe inspiring.
@MontyPython4-r After gameplay, yes... such a shame that you don't have a good PC though.
@codykickass you need to remember that this game has wide open views where you can see for miles. Bioshock only had small rooms so the need for "fog" never came up. This is called "draw distance" and the fog effect appears on the pc version on ultra too, especially when i'm across an area looking into a store, it will be just a dark room but it will slowly "appear" as i get closer to it. The unreal engine ALWAYS did this. Gears of War is riddled with "texture fade-in" because the consoles aren't powerful enough to instantly draw all the detail so it quickly blends it in. older games used to have "texture pop" where the textures on items would "pop" from low-res to high-res as you approached them. it was a jarring effect and made lot's of games look AWFUL. either way i think infinite looks AMAZING and don't feel it's outclassed by it's predecessor in the least, the amount of detail in the world is just staggering, letting some fog ruin that for you is your loss i guess.
@codykickass Not an expert but I believe it's due to graphical limitations. If it's foggy, you won't notice the lack of detail in the art.
They are probably not even using 1080p on pc
@falling_angel_z So, not counting the price of the monitor, could you send me a pm, or write here, a list of compatible componints of a gaming pc for under 800$?
I'd appreciate that since I'm planning on making one by the end of the year when I save for it but I have no idea about the whole thing.
also could you send me some links for blogs or fourms where people talk about this currently and discuss it, my very short resarch came back with vids from 2010 and I'm not sure if their component are upto date or not.
Personally I recommend you go to Newegg and sign up for their newsletter and daily shell shocker deals emails. They usually have hardware bundles for around $ 300.00 which include RAM, Motherboard, PSU, CPU, and case (just add a graphics card, monitor, keyboard and mouse.) Just make sure you spend a little time making sure all of the components are compatible. I haven't seen it myself but I have seen a few people complain on the forums about the RAM sticks not being certified for the motherboards they are bundled with.
Take your time look around and do your research. You can build a great gaming rig for under $ 800.00. I must warn you though building your own system is like crack. Once you start its hard to stop.
@Hilux- @falling_angel_z just google "cheap gamer pc build" or something like that and you'll get plenty of results. there's hardly an issue of maximum pc that comes these days that doesn't have a cheap gaming rig article in it. and with youtube, building a pc these days is a CINCH. just be sure to build with upgrading in mind, no reason you shouldn't have some wiggle room with the next generation on the horizon.
