the only thing I want: an expansion pack with alien races, since the main game comes only with humans...

it would be nice to merge with one major alien scyfy series, like an expansion with civs from halo, mass effect, or something like that. I know firaxis owns no established franchises with alien civilizations, but it would be amazing if they made a deal with bioware, 343 or someone like them.

It must be nice to be invited to one of these things, never mind being a moderator. Looks like Gamespot's got some pull

wish their was more love for these types of games on the console.  whenever I try to play them on a pc i get tired of dealing with a mouse and keyboard, feels too much like my day job.

About time for a decent sequel to Alpha Centauri.

So the moderator works for Gamespot a review site, yet he is there working for a game developer ? Was he paid to do this ? This clearly shows a conflict of interest. How are we meant to trust the Gamespot review of this game.

Good panel. The game just sounds and looks better and better, definitely looking forward to it

At 17:00, one of the developers said that they sneaked in extra features even after the development deadline.

If this is true, then I laud them for that - considering that Firaxis in the past would just put features made after deadlines into priced expansion packs.

@cws3e these kind of strategy games work a lot better with mouse, and console versions are often "dumbed-down" versions to suit the less ideal controls...

@Swiftrunners Game developers and games media work together all the time. How do you think preview coverage can even exist? Reviews have always had to remain separate, and it's up to you to decide how much you trust a site's editors and code of conduct. You can read more about our reviews here: http://www.gamespot.com/review-guidelines/

@Swiftrunners Stop looking for goddamn conspiracy theories for everything. This isn't the first time people from game websites have moderated panels for industry events. He isn't moderating for the designer, he's moderating for the event.

@Chris_Watters @Swiftrunners Its good to here form you. I have no problem in gamespot doing stuff like this. The only problem I have is if you were paid by them to do this and then you, yourself review the game. If that happens then I do have a problem as that money might influence your review.

@heretrix @Swiftrunners Well a lot of these review sites have sketchy pasts. I would be more concerned if people didn't question these things as oppose to "Stop looking for goddamn conspiracy theories for everything"

@Leeric420 That's the problem, people question EVERYTHING. Even the most minute "issue" seems to cause people to call out everything. It's not like people don't get called out if there are legitimate problems. I don't know what internet you read but there certainly isn't a problem with people airing out their opinions. Now if only most of  those opinions had a little more thought put into them.

Again, it isn't like this has never happened before and last time I checked, moderating an industry panel about a game doesn't mean the moderator works for the game designer. Will it influence his review? I don't know but I doubt Chris has reviewed it yet, and if GS has their shit together, he probably won't. But I think that's a better question AFTER the review hits. We really shouldn't be accusing someone of something before it even happens. There is no conflict of interest here.

@heretrix @Leeric420 I never said there was, I just said I would rather someone question it. I don't know what internet your reading but there are plenty of examples of shady reviews and stories, some committed by this very site, you can easily find this for yourself. As such, wouldn't people who found this stuff or who are more educated on the subject be more skeptical when reading something that is suspicious? Ya they would. You are being ironic, as it is also your opinion that needs a little more thought put into it.
