Man, I love AC and all, and I will buy this game, but if you're reading this and you have any hand in future AC releases, can you guys/gals please implement a prone mechanic. MGS elements would work EXTREMELY well. I pray for these types of stealth mechanics, cause let's be real; there's more to stealth than climbing trees, being on rooftops or hiding in bushes. And a pirate experience. Reminds me of the Wind Waker days with a little less cell-shading ;)
After seeing that weather gameplay with the tornado, I pray there is a sharknado easter egg somewhere in the game. That would make my day.
Hmm, I was skeptical at first given how quickly they're pushing these games out, and how buggy and rushed AC3 was, but after seeing this I'm hopeful again. I REALLY hope they actually take time to iron out the bugs in this one.
Looks to me like Assassins Creed just raped the hell out of Age of pirates and made what looks to be a masterpiece of a game ...Well done ubisoft, well done.
syncronizing needs to GO, same goes for "unacessible" memory areas that you can't go but CAN BE ATTACK from within by enemies.
I have played and loved all AC games except AC3 witch I consider a total disaster. I hope they have fixed the serious problems that game had, like the combat system, climbing system, frame-rate issues etc...I want be able to love Assassins Creed again...
I've always loved assassin's creed, whether for the gameplay ,or the huge scaling of the buildings, or the climbing style, and mostly the stunning graphics. but, one thing that troubled me, and seems normal to ubisoft maybe! is the water effects. when you see the sea you feel the breeze and you just want to jump into. once you do its like if you're flying in the water with cheap splashing effects. when I saw the sharks I went like ''wow''. but, when I saw the dolphins hitting the water with no physics or the slightest movement of tessellation in the water I was disappointed. and the strange thing about it, is with all the power provided with PCs we get the same cold hearted effects. shame. and don't tell me it's hard cuz it's not. look at sleeping dogs I can swim the whole day and not even feel bored.
I think this looks awesome, I don't get why people bash this game for not being what it was before, when Assassin's Creed Revelations (even Brotherhood) came out, people were bashing it because it was too similar. Now, Ubi takes it in a completely new direction, which is awesome in my opinion, and I love the theme, and those people are now bashing it because it's not "Assassin's Creed". When the first game came out it was a big thing and the second game unlocked most of its potential. That made AC Ubi's blockbuster series. They're being innovative again, it's a good thing. (I guess you can dismiss my whole opinion because I don't consider AC3 to be a "massive" letdown as some people say it is. May not be an impossible to forget game, but it was still fun.)
I'll be honest, I've been wanting an open world pirate game for years now. Was kind of hoping Rockstar San Diego would do it after Red Dead, but I'll take this - it's the closest I'm going to get to that imaginary dream game for at least a few years.
I haven't played the series since 2 (I can see why some fans are burnt out), so as long as things haven't changed drastically can I basically expect: amazing free-running / platforming; great level design; functional if not groundbreaking stealth; 'meh' combat; and terribad story?
This one actually looks pretty fun. I'm glad to see the series finally returning to what made previous entries so much fun. I actually can't wait for this one. I really hope it doesn't end up being a massive let down like AC3 was.
While I love the AC series despite its milking, I have mixed feelings about getting this. I still can't forgive the devolpers for the awful PC port of AC3 that had horrible performance in the cities, a problem that still remains unresolved 8 months later.
I just can't support that kind of bullshit.
Remember when AC3 looked good in trailers and such? and people thought it's going to be the best in the series?, same could happen here.
Thank god they changed the HUD ( a bit) i really hated the position of the health bar in AC 3 it felt like a shooter or something.
@Buddy53189 PS4 ( you see the control icons in the top right of the screen ). Plus there are other videos out with this director having a PS4 controller with him.
@hsmgaye It's will be a 1000 times better. Just wait and see.
@Devilish102 Understand the difference here. Milking is putting out the very same thing with just different maps. With AC, it's a full on story of the legacy of the assassin's/Templar's. So with each game number comes a whole new saga.
@OhNoesItsDobby I agree, AC3 was just that. With AC4, they took part of the Far Cry 3 team to work on this game with the AC team there at Ubisoft. This is why this AC will be far different then the reg mold we are used to seeing in AC games. Plus playing it on next Gen will bring it all out larger then life. It's games like this that we buy very nice TV's for with surround sound. You will be so lost in this world. You might lose your job, lose your girl friend or have the wife making you sleep on the couch.
@OhNoesItsDobby Same thing I was thinking. I was about to leave a negative comment before I watched this gameplay. My faith has been restored.
@razor_rj Where is that dislike button :(
@NightLord47 Totally agree...
@Arda_Daghan212 A yearly release makes the game boring for one, also no the game hasn't changed at all since brotherhood/rev. The ship is now your horse from past ac's. The bugs are still going to be there, i rather they focused on game play and playability than yearly releases.
@Arda_Daghan212 As long it has AC in the title and it releases yearly...people will BLINDLY hate on it no matter how great or amazing it looks
i'll be even more honest: when sid's pirates game came out for the xbox i was hoping it would be a great game.
i hope this game is huge, has great innovation and NO NO NO handholding and dumbing-down.
@xXl_z3r0_lXx What?, it's not returning in any way, it's just going farther from the actual series used to be.
@AenaosMonomaxos What is an "Assassin's Creed" game?
@Sauvent Well it isn't the short end of the stick that you are getting; so is every console player. With every new game, the old bugs are still there plus the new bugs. They aren't taking any time in fixing these issue. :(
@Don_Mattrick AC3 was awesome, stfu troll.
@G4mBi7 @xXl_z3r0_lXx @Don_Mattrick
I played the whole game and the ending was easily the worst of the series, with the worst and most boring ending sequence ever. I mean all that build up and you didn't even get to fight him, you just chased him. The cities weren't exactly what I'd call beautiful. The story hardly even seemed to be there.
@xXl_z3r0_lXx @Don_Mattrick What are you talking about? I think you basically didn't want to do the character intro so you skipped AC3 and are now complaining about. Granted the fact the intro was 5 hours long took a lot of patience but consider the fact that unlike Ezio who had 3 games to tell him story. Connor had 1 game to tell his story from life to death. Beautiful cities, amazing story, and one of the better endings. Don't hate on the game because Desmond's story was good all up until that fail ending.
