@Jarek Couldn't agree with you more. AC was amazing the way it was, AC:AH looks like its full of gimmicks, try to "attach" this new stupid age of gamers. They want everything super fast and easily accessible, and sadly Ace Combat seems to have fall into it. Its to nearly to tell yet, maybe they'll release a demo

Mr. Kono dodged the question about "gameplay changes;" I want to know if I'm going to be playing an excessively arcadey Hawx game, or if I'm going to be able to play Assault Horizon the way I played previous Ace Combat games. Gameplay is a big deal to me, and as nice as the game "looks," the gameplay experience risks feeling "cheapened" by adding too much superfluity.

Love how interviewers never ask the questions or complaints that people want to know about. Like the awful quick time events, I'm waiting on this one if the reviews say too much about the game I probably won't get it. was gonna be day one purchase when I heard about it now it's wait and see.

This remake looks like burnout.. Except in fighter jets. Oh man! I was gutted when the last one was only released for the 360 - infact it was the only exclusive which genuinly annoyed me. Glad to see it's coming back to many of it's fans :)

I'm praying that this new 'Close Range Assault' system is simply an additional feature, and not a complete replacement of the classic Ace Combat gameplay that we've been happily playing for 16 years. Kono claims that its introduction is in answer to players complaints of seemingly just fighting dots. I find this claim slightly dubious. If it is true, it has never been a problem for me. I've always gone after enemy fighters with guns, so my nose is usually right up their engines anyway. If my favorite game series of all time has been ruined by people who are happy to let their missiles do all the work, I'm going to be pi**ed!

I will get this game even if the ratings are bad! (I don't how that could be possible w/ it's trailers) Should be for PC as well, I'm all for multi-platform games.

As a long time fan of the series, i sort of grew tired of it after The Unsung War (Which was without a doubt the best in the series) - so it's nice to see them mix it up a bit.

Ace Combat always set the bar, the golden bar. They are motivated to push themselves to innovate really commands my admiration.

ok i like the original game play but they have some really good points that the original games were not that dynamic especially close range because i remember flying in circle trying to get behind an enemy at very close range and it is annoying and maybe this new system will make it less boring and more fun because now that i think about it ace combat had a better long range battle system and a crappy dog fighting system. however, i think that the story lines sold me on the games the most besides getting awesome planes. then again this is my opinion i only played 4,5,and zero and i think 5 might have been the best so far

Good questions, decent footage, and generalized, but somewhat helpful answers. I haven't played this series since the PS2 era, and to be honest, as they continued to release new installments, I started to lose interest. Having an online component does sound interesting. Actually, it sounds like a perfect fit for this type of game. But, I;m just not sure that the arcade style approach is going to work. There's only so much captivation an arcade dog fighter can bring. I can only hope we will see someone bring us a simulator concept in the future. We could certainly use more depth in this genre.

There's an interview I read where they said the close range combat isn't the whole game. You enter that view only when you're close enough to an enemy and after pressing a button. Other than that it's supposedly like old Ace Combat styled fighting. They did say that it won't feature all the scifi of older Ace Combat games though. http://imgur.com/a/fYQ3h The scans.

I didn't see anything wrong with the interview, it answered the questions that were asked and they were very informative questions. As for the gameplay changes, I really loved the old formula, but after Ace Combat came out on the 360, it completely turned me off from the series. This new formula will definitely make it more arcade like, but I hope it's a change that will make the game much more fun.

I'm not keen on the new changes, I really liked the old formula of the Ace Combat series... for me, it's sad to see great franchises being "reinvented" to make it more appealing to the west u_u
