It's a high-paced adrenaline induced thrill ride that is fun while it lasts but is held back from greatness...

Vanquish is a game I heard many good critical reviews of, and with good reason, it brings something new to the table that PS3 owners don't particularly have in other games. It's fast paced, action packed and a blast to play for as long as this adrenaline ride can last. It has fun, intense boss battles and over-the-top attitude, characters and fast-paced upbeat action. One thing that really holds this game back is the lack of being able to hold like 10 different guns. You'll be in a boss battle unleashing hell from different weapons in your four weapon arsenal, and then you'll be like, "heck, I need a rocket launcher" and then you'll proceed to slide around the level looking for one, wishing you didn't have to drop your shotgun to pick it up. I remember growing up and playing FPS that allowed you to hold like 10-12 different guns, and I remember the first time I was only able to hold 2 different guns which, granted it's more "realistic", but so impractical. Now it's in like every single video game, and I miss the days when you could hold a collection of guns so big that it was simply ridiculous. Anyways, that's my biggest gripe with the game other than some repetitive enemies. It looks good, it feels slick and it's a blast to play but it's more of a weekend rental than a cherished game that you'd want to keep in your collection or want to replay in the months to come.
