Don't understand the high praise

I think the most obvious thing to point out first is the very dated looking visuals. The game came in 2010 and it looked more like 2006. The quality of the visuals was nowhere near as good as they should have been and that put a big damage on things IMO.

The story, The dialogue and the voice acting are all pretty disappointing as well. The story throws you into a situation that they don't really clear up or explain. The dialogue, as said in the Gamespot review, is awfully corny and the performances by the voice acting cast felt wooden and too straightforward/serious. They clearly had no fun reading what was in front of them and it shows.

The only thing that really redeems this game is the gameplay. It's very fast-paced, action-packed and fun to play. There is so much going on onscreen and it's kind of a cluster f**k at times but that's what makes it so enjoyable to play and I can totally see why reviewers praise it so much. Sadly though, That is where the high point ends.

The campaign is done in 5 quick acts that take less than an hour a piece to complete. There is no replay value with the game either, No addition incentives to play it on the harder difficulties. And the lack of game modes is a disappointment as well. I felt this game more than likely would have thrived if they had a solid competitive online multiplayer but sadly, They didn't.

Overall: 5/10
The gameplay is a blast but that's about it. There's such a severe lack of content that you are honestly over and done with this game before you are even started with it. And the weak story doesn't help the fast-paced campaign either.
