there are many reviews about this title and sad to say most of them are negative reviews. Valhalla Knights plays alot like monster hunter and phantasy star. you grab a quest and set off into the world to complete them and or hunt monsters which drop equipment for you to pick up and modify. it os basically the same concept over and over again.
but what separates Valhalla Knights from these other 2 is that it offers a decent variety of character classes to choose from, and you can change whenever you'd like in game to a different class. each time your character levels up you can distribute stat points into whatever stat you would like to make your own character unique. the weapon equipment system i will note is a unique system not seen in many games. i bring this up because you can mix and match any one handed weapon with any other. whether it is a sword, katana, wand, or knife. what weapons your character wields is completely up to you. going back to the different classes and so forth. when you level up a class and level up class abilities. you can carry on those abilities to whatever other class you change to. for example if you previously leveled up the mage class and have the Wind Storm spell and now you changed into a Fighter. you will be a Fighter who can also utilize magic. i bring this up because it is very rare for a game to allow you to mix and match class abilities.

though this game is not as bad as the reviews it has been getting, i will have to agree to some comments people made about the game itself.

the game really is a pain to the eye, and i mean that literally. the world is dark and at times it is really hard to see what is going on, espicially if it starts to rain or fog. though i bring this up as a con, it also plays as a pro because it sets the mood of the world the player is in. but even though it sets the mood of the world for the player i do believe they cuold have done a better job at lighting. at some points in the game the screen is darker than you'd want it to be, but also sometimes it is brighter than you'd want it to be. like i said before, it literally is a pain to the eye. another con about this game would have to be the online gameplay. it doesn't suck but it also isn't good. there needs to be some work on the online gameplay because it really limits you. i say so because you can only play online if you register people's friend codes and they join your room that you make. basically if you dont know anyone who has this game then you won't be playing online. that is unless you hook up with someone on the net. last but not least, ill defineately say that this is what turns people off the most about this game. the game literally don't have a tutorial. it teaches the player how to attack, loot, sprint, climb, and descend from ledges and thats about it. it doesn't teach the player how to set skills or where to improve them, though it is self explanatory once you see the window, it would have been nice for it to let you know that this is an option. you can set items to your belt and have quick access to them while on the field. you can set multiple items on your belt and change them as well. but the game itself dont show you any of this.
the lack of direction and tutorial in this game is a big flaw, that is my statement there.

but if you are willing to look pass these cons the game itself is very enjoyable. i highly recommend the title to anyone who is a fan of the monster hunter or phantasy star series. give it a chance and really it probably will surprise you.
