The best outer-space adventure / role-playing game ever made.

This is the only game I can recall in the 35 years I have been a gamer that still is the best to-date in its associated category. To this day this is still the best outer-space adventure and role-playing game. Its much more open world, or open space, than Mass Effect or any other game from the same genre.

I have always wished someone would duplicate the same experience from this game into "modern gaming" graphics and capabilities. I have been waiting 20 years!

It was truly the first open world type game that I can recall from 20 plus years ago. Of course there is a story, plot and several goals - mainly defeat the Ur-Quan, an evil alien race bent on ruling the universe, or was it galaxy back then? ;) But, there is so much more to it, like meeting many other races and deciding to fight or flight or negotiate with them.

Even the battles were fun, as well as updating your spaceship with various weaponry and exploration tools.

I doubt anyone who has never played it will give it a chance because the graphics are so archaic. I understand that position; but for those of use who are old enough to have played it know how truly before its time this game was - an epic game by definition.
