Quests are too straightforward perhaps, and not enough depth in character building.

User Rating: 6.5 | Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade PSP
It may satisfy the casual hack'n'slash gamer since there are very few of this genre available on the PSP, and those are equally unappealing. The top-down look doesn't help to attract visually and the music is quite annoying in its seemingly raw midi format. The sound effects are generic most of the time but at least the impacts and some monster roars still pack quite a punch.

The leveling up doesn't attract me as well because the skills (for any character) doesn't do much impact on the whole and aren't very memorably useful. Treasure hunting lacks excitement after a while when you realise set items don't serve much purpose and there aren't any good unique weapons or armor that stand out for you to care.

After a while, travelling between dungeons and places get tedious since they look very similar in design and combat tactics doesn't require much thought for the fighting to be fun. Not very memorable, but given that it's one of the first few pioneer games released for the PSP, Untold Legends still does a good job in the hack'n'slash genre.
