A good fps game with both pros and cons

User Rating: 7.8 | Unreal Championship (Xbox World Collection) XBOX
Usually I write incredibly long reviews, but I’ll keep this one short and blunt. Unreal Championship is basically the xbox port of the PC game Unreal Tournament 2003. It’s neither a perfect conversion, nor is it a complete loss. It has its fair share of pros and cons. Pros: • It’s a good change in a multiplayer fps then to play nothing but Halo all the time. • Everything is unlocked right off the bat, no need to unlock anything. • It has a lot of cool team-based modes such as ctf, team deathmatch, domination, and so on. • The graphics look great • The weapons are pretty cool and look awesome • A lot of weapons can kill someone in about two or three hits. • Unlike the PC version, each race has their own attributes. (IE robots jump higher, juggernauts are tougher, etc) • The mutators help keep the matches interesting • Unlike some fps games (like Halo) you can add bots into the game with multiplayer. Cons: • It my be a pro as well, but everything is unlocked right off the bat, meaning not much replay value for single player • A lot of the voices sound horrible and can be annoying • The graphics may be great, but the frame rate drastically begins to lag when you have so many people in the match at once, even when playing offline • Aiming can be hard to do since this game is more fast paced then other console fps games. • A lot of weapons can kill someone in about two or three hits • Even with the team-modes, the game can be a lot of mindless run and gun, because of the fact the weapons are so strong Overall, the game is at least worth a rental. It may not be as good as UT2003 for PC, but it’s still a worthy fps for console. The only thing is, the fps genre has some tough competition on xbox because there are so many that are on it, and a lot that are incredibly good. So with the tough competition, it’s recommended as a rental. If you end up enjoying it, it has a great online community that will keep you coming back to playing it.
