Naughty Dog has set a new bar for the way action-adventure games need to be.
Uncharted 2's story takes place about 2 years after the first. Nathan "Nate" Drake is searching for the Marco Polo's lost fleet centuries lost. He believes that he may have found not only Shambhala (Shangri-La), but the wish-fulfilling Cintimani Stone with it. The story like the first is EXTREMELY well written, to a point where you're thinking, "Why isn't this a movie?" Everything is paced perfectly, and the script doesn't jump the shark in any way. The game's character's come alive with very talented voice actors that make you really feel these characters and get to know them better.
The graphics are perhaps not only the best on the PlayStation 3, but one of the best since Crysis. The lush jungles, blinding snow blizzards, and war-torn villages and cities are as photo-realistic as you can imagine. You would need an eye surgeon to check you if you don't think of these graphics as groundbreaking.
Gameplay goes much like the first. Is it Gears of War mixed with Tomb Raider? WRONG! The game does so much more than that. The jumping isn't anywhere as frustraing, and cover works without flaws. There are new weapons such as the RPG-7, M32 Hammer (the strongest weapon in the game), the Pistole (a pistol that shoots shotgun shells) and my favorite, the FN FAL.
I would've already bought it just for the story, but the multiplayer is just as good. You'd think that this was a tacked on piece of crap just to include "multiplayer" on it, but Naughty Dog takes pride in everything they do. There's Deathmatch, Plunder (CTF) Chain Reaction as well as cooperative mission such as Arena and segments from the story. Everything is perfectly balanced and never lagged for me.
Plain and simple: this is the best game I've playing in years. No one should miss out on playing this. The Naughty Dogs have stuck gold once again. If you have a PS3 and don't like or play this, YOU'RE DUMB. Why are you still reading this boring review. Go play it. Now.
