Another fighting game succumbs to the horror of the 360 d-pad.

Instead of getting all flowery and technical on you, and discussing the merits of Mortal Kombat as a fighting series, I'll keep this simple: Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is probably the best entry in the series, and it holds up extremely well. However, this game is ruined by the 360 d-pad, which makes the game an unplayable mess. It's not worth your time or money, and you'll save yourself a lot of grief by buying another version of this game if you want a blast of classic MK goodness. The controls are, quite possibly, the worst I've ever seen in any game ever. They are broken in the classic sense. Characters will do unintended moves, and you'll lose matches because of it. That's really all you need to know. In summary: Excellent game, but broken controller means no buy. Buy another version, but don't buy this.
