Two Worlds 2 is chronically underrated. Prepare for satisfying open ended exploration and a bounty of original quests!

User Rating: 9 | Two Worlds II PC
Two Worlds 2 is an ambitous and massive, open-ended fantasy RPG with so many varied quests that at times you may feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of them. There is always something to do in TW2, always somewhere to go - and the beautiful vistas provided by the game engine make the journey to each destination a rewarding experience all by itself. While the lip-synching is pitiful and some of the voice acting a bit too campy or uninspired, TW2's self-awareness as a perceived "B" title makes for some really hilarious moments when characters comment on various aspects of the RPG genre that can be annoying such as employing archaic speech to make the game world seem more "fantasy-ish." Some of the mini-games are gems in themselves, including playing dice (a la the Witcher's gambling games), learning to play a guitar in Guitar Hero style and a satisfying mini-game for picking locks which takes THIEF's lockpicks and 2-D tumblers and brings them to life in vivid 3-D. Another nice touch is that you are not just killing the regular milieu of fantasy world enemies in TW2. Just like Gothic 3, Orcs are actually your allies in this game, and you will find yourself hunting exotic new beasts like baboons, cheetahs, ostriches and other savannah fauna. The main review of TW2 does a good job of introducing the new magic system and the process of dismantling your booty into it's components to upgrade existing weapons and armor so I won't go into detail there. Bottom line - there is so much to do and see and experience in TW2 that I can't think of a more satisfying fantasy RPG out there past or present. This is a MUST buy for any self-respecting fantasy RPG fan. Don't let middling review scores turn you off. This is a great game and you won't be let down.
