I can't say that I have ever played any game like trade winds before. Basically all you do is buy and sell with the occasional extortion or storm and make money. You can select to be one of four characters and build up your trading empire. There are general goods weapons textiles and dream dust to sell and pirates to hunt down it is a very very fun game and I recommend it. Game is easy to figure out sound isn't all that great but really put on a cd and you don't need to listen to te game noise. i guess the only way you'll be disappointed is if you don't like economics or trading
