Torchlight is a modernization of the classical Diablo I and II formula, condensed into a small, stylized world and refined down to three basic classes. What it delivers is addictive, fast-paced action coupled with stylish visuals, a capable score, and a portable, addicting hack and slash.

Graphics: The game features stylized visuals that look appealing and cartoonish, but at the same time deliver the gore and explosive spell effects we love. Additionally, due to its stylized visuals, Torchlight performs very well on even low end machines, and the optional button to check for netbooks (lower GPU consumpion, more stress placed on RAM) is a welcome addition. This is a perfect game to install on your flash drive.

Sound: The sound is also more than capable, with a thrilling musical score.

Gameplay: The gameplay is simple, elegant, clean, and functional. The motivation of loot is a welcome one. The UI is helpful and non-cluttered, the skill trees are diverse and play differently, and the three classes are varied.

This is a must-have hack and slash, and a steal at $20.
