While the gameplay is very good, the game still dosn't match the greatness of THUG.

User Rating: 9 | Tony Hawk's American Wasteland GC
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland improves from THUG 2 in gameplay and in it's soundtrack, but it's missing the magic of THUG.

So, when you start the game, you're a random skater who just came to L.A. on a bus. You get you're stuff stolen by some guy with a mohawk and a shirt that says "Punk" on it. You meet a girl named Mindy, and she makes you change your hair and buy new clothes.

And unlike the other Tony Hawk games, you have to learn (nearly all) of the tricks, which is annoying to someone who is a fan of the Tony Hawk games. But, if you're new to the series, it would help you out, which is good.

The main thing that annoys me are the faces of the characters, they look like they were made out of Play-Doh. And they lack emotion when they are talking. And, I wish each character would have a different voice, kinda like in THUG 2 where you can choose the voice of your skater.

This game is good though, but THUG is better.
