It seems that while throughout the last few installments of the Tony Hawk series the minor upgrades in moves and controls, comes with minor downgrades in actual gameplay. While the addition of a great bmx control system is a new twist, the goals in story mode are becoming more and more uninspired. The goals in story mode leave no room for creativity and possible ways to complete the goal. There is one obvious method and they let the player know exactly what it is. However while this makes the story and classic modes short for experienced players, most Hawk veterans spend most of the playing time freeskating or online. As I die hard Tony Hawk fan, I was going to buy this game regardless of the story, because of the updated moves and new and "classic" levels. The game features enough control tweaks and well designed levels to make this game well worth playing.
