Sam Fisher/Splinter Cell is back and a new threat looms...

User Rating: 8.5 | Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow PS2
....it begins somewhere in East Timor, apparently a fledging democracy recently attacked by the DDD. They have taken hostages, which are your initial objective that is until Shetland, an old friend of Fisher is found to be working in the area. You must save his life as he saved yours years ago in Baghdad. The usual banter goes on between you as the Deltas have gone to save the hostages in your stead.

The usual stealth and search reveal Sadono has grim plans for the future. His lead mercenary led a combined French-Syrian team into a cryogenics facility in Paris reminiscent of sneaking around that Georgian run factory in Virginia two years ago game time. Especially with the bomb near the midway point. The gutted brains on the floor were a bizarre touch and then it was onto the train going to Nice from Paris.

Another total silent runner, quite enough these missions have a non-lethal requirement, which runs alongside no alarms, that makes a lot of sense especially if you are trying to avoid detection at all costs. You learn who the odd e-mail address belongs to and he doesn't exactly have a clean record. Something about his story doesn't add up and this new guy Brunton worries me somewhat. Especially after his name comes up during a threat against the grocer storing my SC-20K in his store.

A quick knockout procedure allows me to continue and find Tal. You trail and whack off guards along the way to the factory without her knowing you are still back there. Eventually you both make it to the storage facility only to find out she's a double agent, her allegiance and so forth then become questionable. Lambert orders you to kill her before proceeding, which I did without hesitation though killing a person that aided me felt strange. Lambert said he would explain.... I guess he will and then below is where they are keeping the bio-agent.

Brunton authorizes fifth freedom on the facility's personnel. I was already running low on ammo so I limited to taking out lights and knocking out the rest or killing when necessary. The agent sample is taken and its time to go after clearing the way out back to the extraction with Coen. After that it is onto Indonesia, another hot spot in the world. There is a reversal going on East Timor for US troops battling Sadono's forces and a Springfield was vaccinated against the mutated smallpox devised by Sadono's biologists.

Another day-night in the life of Sam Fisher, the job never done for Splinter Cell. A life full of self-sacrifice so that others can sleep at night.
