While having slightly degraded graphics and sound, the gameplay that the ghost recon fans love( like me) still remains.

User Rating: 7 | Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm (w/Headset) PS2
The third installement in the series is called Jungle Storm. It was a bit strange that this game has slightly worse graphics and sound for a third game. But nonetheless, this port of ghost recon will still give fans of the series more of what they love untampered.

GAMEPLAY:
The game's gameplay has not changed at all over the years and that is a good thing. Jungle Storm offers a plethera of missions and mission modes. It still boasts the rescue the hostage theme and plant a demo charge, all while killing lots of terrorists. There is a wide array of weapons to choose from but they don't really have a distinct difference between them that you can notice. Your fellow teamate AI is decent and simple to control. They can take out enemies easily and with good aim. They are smart when it comes to taking cover or engaging a large platoon of enemies. The enemy AI is decent as well, providing some challenge by taking positions and taking careful shots, keep in mind that they won't do anything remarkable though. The game is also realistic and one shot can kill.

GRAPHICS:
Ironically, for a third expansion it has the worst graphics in the series. The textures are very muddy, and the characters are not that great to look at. But character animations and movements are actually quite good though boasting a variety of poses and movements. The game features large maps and good long draw distances with limited fog. Detail in weapons and characters are all right. Overall, the graphics are pretty bad in comparison to other ghost recons but for hardcore fans, it will be a sight all too familiar and that is a good thing.

SOUND:
While providing distinct sounds for each weapon, explosion, ambience, etc,
it sounds low quality and muffled and is overall the worst aspect of the game. The music is decent but nothing memorable or worth listening to.
There are some voiceovers but they are basic radio chatters and enemy warcrys.

FINAL THOUGHT:
Overall, the game may have some technical lacks in quality, it still provides more of the same tactical gameplay that ghost recon fans will enjoy even in Jungle Storm. For fans of the series, this game is worth a look.
