Ghost Recon is one of the very few great N-gage games, and it should be in any N-gagers library.
Gameplay- Ghost Recon is a military tactical/stealth shooter that has had it's shares of ups and downs through the years. The gameplay is exactly the same as the console versions. Now, that means if you did not enjoy them on the console, then you probably won't like this game. With that said, if you think that having a fully 3-D Ghost Recon game sounds great, then this is it. Everything from the console version is here. You can command your squad mates what to do and where to go, and you can still switch bodies with one of your teammates. The controls might be a bit iffy with just a D-pad and a number pad, but the control scheme is set at the very best configuration that it can be at, making it easy to get used to after awhile.
Graphics- The graphics in Ghost Recon are great for a handheld system. There are great character animations and movements, and there are many effects such as raining and night time missions. Let's just say that they are great graphics, and a GBA would only dream of having such graphics.
Sound- The sound in Ghost Recon is also very good. In fact, it's one of the few N-gage games worth having the volume on. Characters respond to certain situations, and the enviromental sounds sound believable even on a handheld. Some of the guns can sound weak at times, but for the most part the sound is excellent.
Value- The only big issue with game; however, is the time spent playing the game. The thing is you could probably beat the game on Easy in about a 3 or 4 hour sitting. That is of course, if you are already familiar with the Ghost Recon gameplay. If this were to be your first Ghost Recon game, I would say about 5-6 hours at the most. You do however have three difficulty settings, where the last one is very hard actually. Also, in an effort to boost the time spent playing the game, they have added two special missions for each mapthat you can play after you have beaten a selected map. There is also deathmatch via bluetooth, but the chances of knowing another person with an N-gage around you are very slim.
So all in all, if you are an N-gager praying to find a good game, Ghost Recon might fill some of that gap. It is one of the best games for the N-gage, and should be a must for N-gage/Ghost Recon fans.
