Gives you exactly what we have come to expect from Tom Clancy, the Godfather of Techno-fiction.

I used to worship Tom Clancy novels, from the ground breaking 'Hunt for Red October' to the semi game tie-in 'Rainbow Six'.
But with the end of the Cold-War, I found that some of the novels seemed to lose their way. It seemed that after spending his whole writing career with the threat of Russian Nukes, adapting to the new world order may have left him struggling to find his inspiration.

Luckily, though, it didn't take long for both the novels and games to re-establish themselves as state of the art, believable, military adventures.

I've played Ghost Recon since the original PC version, and I love the interraction aspect. Being able to control your team from the field while still being fully involved in the action. All the while keeping the realism, one shot to the head and you are out of it. It gives the game the main thing that Call of Duty lacks, which is the need to fully think out your moves and assess the surroundings. Rather than run, guns blazing, into the breach. You have to maneuver your team and yourself to get the best angles to take on the enemy while not breaking cover.

The explosion effects are the best I've seen, even if the overrall graphics don't stress the PS3's engine to their full potential. The makers have sacrificed cutting edge graphics for story-telling and gameplay.
The gameplay starts fairly straight forward with the training missions, but the learning curve is quite steep, almost assuming that you have played its' predecessors and is just giving you a refresher.

The game can be tough at times and you will need to think on your feet and try different ways to get around challenges, but a game that gets me thinking makes me feel a bigger sense of accomplishment when I finish it.

It's a thinking mans shooter, give it a go.
