The most underrated game on the PS2.

Oogie's Revenge is a sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas, a stop-motion animation film from 1993. I won't give away what happens in the movie, but in this game, Oogie Boogie, the bad guy, returns to take over Halloween Town, as well as other holiday towns. You play as Jack Skellington, The Pumpkin King, as he tries to stop Oogie Boogie once and for all.
Jack has a handy weapon called the soul robber, which he uses to attack enemies. The square button is for melee attacks, while the triangle button is for a grab attack. Throughout the game, enemies get bigger and stronger, but I saw myself using the exact same strategy on enemies to take them down.
Most of the fun I had in this game is the boss battles, which are alot of fun, and very interesting. Interesting I say, because in the engrossing battle, any characters involved are singing a song. The original film was a musical, and most of the songs in this game are remakes of the songs from the film, even though Danny Elfman had nothing to do with this game. Also, in the boss battles, you gather a bunch of musical notes to fill a meter. Once full, a dance minigame starts, which you have to push buttons in sequence, much like DDR, but here it can be very difficult. They get crazy, that's all I'm saying.
I don't have much more to say about this game. I was quite surprised by this game. The boss battles are spectacular and the music was exellent. If you are a fan of the original film, than you might want to take a gander at this game. Oh, one more thing. Happy Halloween!
