Has potential, but not being able to turn the caddie completely off is frustrating to say the least.

EA finally seems to have gotten the gameplay down pat. This game plays great, and the career mode fun and engaging. You no longer have to play tedious chipping games and long drive competitions to get attributes for your player. You start off by playing tournaments at an amateur level and work your way up to the PGA Tour.

I haven't spent too much time playing yet, but there is one nagging issue that I am sure will be discussed among the more experienced TW PGA Tour players. No matter what difficulty you set the game on, you cannot turn off the caddie. Well, once you are in the round, you can disable him, but that hardly shuts him up. He will still try to give you suggestions when you clearly don't want or need them. Gone are the days of playing 30-minute 18 hole rounds. The caddy talks too much and the HUD is not speed-friendly. In order to see your lie, you have to actually push a button that zooms the camera in on your ball. And even though you may have disabled the caddie, you still have to pick "custom shot" instead of one of his preset shots.

The time it takes for me to play an 18 hole round in this game has doubled, thanks to a dumbed down HUD and a stubborn caddie. Don't get me wrong, though. This may seem like a very negative review, but besides this issue (it is a big one, nonetheless), the game is fun and engaging. I really hope EA listens to the players and comes out with a patch that will allow one to completely disable the caddie.
