A straight up no-nonsense shooter from the NES' heydey. Tiger-Heli is a solid, albeit generic experience.

User Rating: 7 | Tiger-Heli NES
What is so appealing about Tiger-Heli is its honest, straightforward gameplay. Sure, there are dozens of titles like this on the NES, but Tiger-Heli pushes itself towards the front of the pack with its addictive gameplay.

No plot is given, nothing explained. You are thrown right into the heart of battle and begin moving forward through wave after wave of enemies. You will face tanks, battleships, jets, and strange supertanks that dart around the screen while simultaneously firing a constant barrage at you. The controls are tight and responsive enough, as they need to be with your meager one-hit stamina. Throughout the game you will receive a number of upgrades to your rig such as small "helper" helis who add more firepower, and bombs to help you clear out some of the more convoluted areas.

The difficult level increases at a pretty steep pace, and within 10 minutes of gameplay you'll have sweaty palms; a trademark of a good shooter. Tiger-Heli is a good way to waste a few afternoon hours, shooter fans will enjoy this.
