Short and less fun!

There is a bad trend among gaming companies who make a great first game and downsize the next one or two. The Witcher 1 had only two problems - no fast travel and scarcely any gear or weapons worth mention. Beside that, you get a lot of fun, plenty of sidequests and a captivating story.
The sequel improve the armorweapon customization, but is far to short and plagued by decisions who artificially prolong the time you spend playing, transforming fun in work. On top of the black list is mutagen farming. Hours upon hours of boring, tedious work to kill endrega or nekkers or harpies in hope for a greater or madness mutagen. Second place go to no fast travel and the strange way of deleting your save files who involve Esc-Load-Highlight the save and press Delete !? Third goes to the cumbersome inventory screen, crafting and potion drinking who involve far to much micromanagement.
The game itself is, mostly, unbalanced. The story lean to heavy on the kingdoms of the north vs empire conflict, delegating the most important reason of witcher`s life aka monsters slaying to obscurity. The gameplay has been nerfed, leaving us with a witcher who is no more different or special. They decided, for no reasons, to scrap the sword styles, leaving in place the cumbersome one-by-one hitting and the less than effective group damagers. Also, you can`t use potions in combat and there are to much keyboards key to use who kill most of the fluidity. On top of the tasteless cake sit the overgrown bosses, more akin to Dungeon and Dragons or Wizard of the Coast worlds and a clear indication they try to much to please the casual player.
Music and graphics sit well together, but nothing remarkable. You get the battle music whenever something creep on you, especially in the Flotsam forrest, a mixed blessing because you have the time to press Quen, but not to see from where they came since the map show red points when nothing is there and you`ll rotate wildly the camera and get hit from behind.
