User Rating: 6.1 | The Terminator GEN
After emulating some old SEGA Megadrive games that I still had in the loft, I came across one of my favourite games. "The Terminator" follows the film's story from starting in the future, to ending in the factory where you come face to face with The Terminator.

You play as Kyle Reese, and armed with grenades, you have to infiltrate the Skynet underground base. This is probably the toughest level in the game, where machine gun-weilding robots come at you while you lob grenades at them, exposed to damage. If you want to have an easy ride through the game, though, pick the easy difficulty where you also get a machine gun which makes it FAR more simpler.

The next two levels are Kyle in the present, where with a shotgun and a coat that looked like he stole it from a doctor, has to get through the streets and the Police Station, shooting thugs and cops (who never die)...and then the boss on both levels is the Terminator.

The final level is the factory, where you have to blast the Terminator away until he crawls at you. One frustrating thing is the near-impossible task of jumping over him if you get trapped. The whole level is almost a maze of staircases and ladders as you try to reach Sarah Conner, who then pushes the button to squash the Terminator.

Funny, how Kyle is still alive when the Terminator is squashed, but like the movie...he is dead? Even in the credits, it tells you Kyle has died. But how? If you went through the whole game and killed the Terminator?

But, like all SEGA Megadrive games, the music is very catchy and even if you find the game too easy, the music still brings you back to playing it.
