Slow paced, way-too-simple game

User Rating: 2 | Simple 2500 Series Portable Vol. 2: The Tennis PSP
Tennis was more fun on the Atari 2600. The CPU's shots are predictable, and they are incredible easy to beat. And the game play is incredibly slow. There is no way to turn off replays after every single point, and you can't skip ahead during them until a couple seconds in. Seems like you spend more time waiting to play than actually playing.

The characters names and looks are all ripoffs of real players (Nagassi? Really?), along with a disclaimer that any similarity to real players is completely coincidental. Or just changed enough not to get the publisher sued.

The game has only four tournaments. One on a grass court, one on clay, one on artificial turf, and one on concrete. While I applaud the fact that the ball bounces differently on the different surfaces, there is no story mode to keep interest.

One thing I will give a small degree of fun to, the reason I rated this a 2.0 instead of a 1.0, are the minigames. A couple of them were able to hold my attention for up to a half hour before I became bored with them.

This is a cheap download on the PSN, but still not worth it at all.
